Why does this office im in have men and women working in separate stations?

I literally can't talk to the guys cos they sit at the other side of the room, not that theyre attractive or anything, i just prefer talking to guys than girls

Today, a new guy started yesterday and I noticed he sits at the guys station. But the boss yelled, so it possibly is his decision

I asked today n it seems like a coincidence but seems like the boss instructs them where to sit

Smart. So much office drama with flings and romances on the floor. They can be costly especially if there is a lot of worker turnover or worse some sort of suit.

Wow i work hard all the time. I've been exhausted this week because of how hard i worked and its not even a job, im just helping them out. We can still talk while we work

Honestly, that would be a giant factor in me not wanting to continue working at a particular job. That's crazy. But worse... it tells you that the people you're working for are crazy (they thought this was a good idea. And implemented this nonsense).

Thankfully, im only there for two weeks to help them with a move. I definitely would not have chosen to work there if it was through an interview process, its a miserable place to work aswell and very untidy. Probably how i got covid

You should try and ask a few people who work there how they feel about it if you get a chance. I'd be curious. That is a weird environment to have to work in everyday.

I used to work with a lot of women. Now I work with mostly all dudes (the nature of the industry). And I couldn't agree more. Just having women around, makes such a huge difference in the atmosphere. It's honestly really important. I wish there were more women around at work. You think guys are idiots? Wait until you see them with no women around... it's... bad...

I couldnt work with just women, i went to an all girls high school and i hated it. I was bullied my whole time there. I have v little experience with men because of that, i feel like I've not been around enough men to know hoe to deal with them when something goes wrong.

Honestly, I can totally appreciate how that could happen. I've often thought that sending your kid to a same-sex highschool was a really messed-up thing to do, for that exact reason. One of the most important things anyone learns in school is socialization.

To remove the opposite sex... completely skews the dynamic. (there is nowhere on earth with the social dynamics of an all-girls-school). People not only fail to be exposed to regular socialization when it comes to the opposite sex (not just romantically. But... just how to relate as classmates, acquaintances and friends).

Then what you're left with is a bunch of girls (or a bunch of guys) who learn to socialize DIFFERENTLY than anybody else. They learn the social dynamics within a group comprised ONLY of members of their own sex. That social dynamic is literally non-existent in the real world. Nowhere are you ever going to be able to use those skills. Even with women... it's a different dynamic between women when men are around, then when it's JUST women.

I don't really often hear people say what you've just expressed there. But I have thought about that quite a bit. I would EXPECT more people to feel the way you do about it. I think single-sex schools shouldn't exist at all.
