Ok so. Fr, this really became far more educational than i expected.
So according to y'all.
If you are white but with Italian ancestors you tan easy and don't burn.
But if you are white but Irish heritage y'all burn easy and don't really tan.
I really didn't think that something like that made a difference.

In my case, yes.

I like going to the beach and I have some funny stories with sunburn tan lines. The worst sunburn I got was when I was playing "shirts vs skin" soccer with my friends at the beach... My luck I was on the "shirts" team and it saved my torso from melting down like my face, neck, arms and legs. 😆

But I have some horrifying stories as well, despite being young I recently got precancerous scaly spots on my face. I've treated it, but I'm from now on forbidden from taking sunlight without a powerful sunscreen.

Even without sunscreen or tanning lotion I just get dark which is from my italian background and just recently after beating cancer last fall I did a genetics study regarding family history of illnesses and when my DNA came back I found out I was also part African American

Funny thing is most people will find out they are a tiny bit of African.
Because at 1 point the land on the earth was only 1 piece.
People slow spread out on that one piece changes in the earth broke the land apart creating the world as we see it now. And depending where you lived you were stuck at that part of the world now, and slowly over time generations we all developed to look different based on the environment

Yep. I burn or reflect the sun. I never know which it will be. Sometimes I burn worse with sunscreen. A natural tan for me just moves me from corpse color to pale. I had a melanoma scare once and I'm more careful now.

Yeah but mostly it's not a bad sunburn, cause it doesn't get so hot in germany and the pain is over in like 2 days.

Once we were in croatia, super hot and I forgot suncreme and I had a really bad sunburn and even burn blisters.. that shit hurt as hell and the pain stayed for good nearly two weeks. That wasn't fun

Im not white but i get sunburnt very easily. Its part of why im like a vamp and prefer to only go out at night. The sun burns me very badly in a short amount of time, and this is just simply during car rides out in the day. I hate how painful it is

I am sometimes outside all day long when I am doing surveys, so I wear clothes to cover me up as best as possible.

I have to apply a high level sunscreen to keep from burning too much and I still burn/tan-up, regardless.

Bc I take precautions, I don't get severely burnt. In addition, I have a tanned colored skin already from my native background which somewhat helps.

I have mostly Irish heritage, so my skin is white. But I am fortunate to tan easily. I can get really dark.
If I haven't been in the sun for a while, I have to be careful because, yeah, I can burn. But the browner I get, the more I can handle the sun without burning.

For example, I used to be a surfer and could spend all day in the sun without burning. And I didn't use sun screen.

Per your update. I'm Irish, with a bit of English and northwestern European. I don't have any Italian or Mediterranean ancestry.
I tan easily!
But it's generally true that people with browner skin tan more easily. Germans and Scandinavians, for instance, have a tougher time.

I usually burn once at the beginning g of the year and then unless I forget the sunscreen on a big outing or something where I am outside all day usually I am good for the rest of the year and I just get darker.

Lol! I mean it comes with the genes within those blood lines. For instance my dad and his two siblings are half Italian and look like Irishman. They burn so badly and have hazel eyes and red-ish blond hair. So it isn’t quite that easy of science but most people with those blond lines are often effected in the ways suggested.

I rarely use sunblock. I'm fair skinned but I don't really burn. My dad had melanoma and used sunblock as well as never taking his shirt off.

At 50 I'm not bothered these days. It's not like I go to the beach a lot anyway. Dadbod plus amputee and I get some odd looks but I don't care.

Yes, although I love being in the sun, I need most of the time to cover myself in order to avoid sunburns. By the way, a dermatologue told me that black pleople living mainly in less sunny countries, get sunburns as quickly as white people, although they probably would adapt themselves more easyly to the sun because of the melanine in their skin.

PS: don't trust too much suncremes. Sure they help depending on their quality, but be careful not to stay too long in the sun.

If I don’t go east the first few days outside, yea. It’s an adaptation to a climate that has less uv light. Basically the first few days of intense sun I wear a lot of sunscreen and stay hydrated. After a week or two I’m much less worried about it and probably don’t get a burn. It’s more a tan

Well to answer your question it depends how strong the sun is on the day and the UV ray lights at the location a person may be.
