As strange and as simple as it sounds, give duckpin bowling a try. It's just another form of tenpin; nothing tremendously different, but with shorter, squatter pins and a smaller ball. The world record score is only 230 or so, so it'd be an interesting challenge, I think. But for some stupid reason, it's basically nonexistent outside of New England.

Another thing, possibly even simpler, is to hear "Stones" from Ultima V (and VI, VII, VII part 2 and IX) played on a pipe organ. It was written for the lute, but I heard a recording of it played on a grand piano, and I'm curious how it'd sound scaled up even further.
