Some people are simply lazy in their use of the language and it is a reflection of their work ethic. I try to be extremely punctilious in my use of the English language, because I do care.
by the way, your question should read: "I see many grammatical mistakes by English speaking people. Do you believe that your mother tongue is the language in which you are the weakest?"
But I usually try not to be a grammar Nazi!
I noticed a mistake or two when I was proofreading the question. Bu that was after I posted the question.
But your question seems cleaner than mine.
I was actually just trying to show that some of us are competent in our use of the English language.
Yess! That is what I implied. You are really good.
I meant the confusion between their and there. The distinction seems natural to me, but some are really confused.
Some were too busy passing notes to friends in class and not paying attention!
No, it's just that English speaking countries have some of the least educated people on earth.
I think in a lot of cases, they know what is correct but realize getting something "almost right" or getting sloppy with the language is OK on social media. I don't put the blame on the education system, you can teach a kid good grammar and spelling but you can't make him or her use it. I live in an area where some people think it's perfectly fine to say "I seen this guy (doing whatever)." It drives me nuts.
Little grammar correction.
Do you believe that your mother tongue is THE language you are the weakest in?

There is one more error. Find that. I found the errors AFTER I posted the question, while proof reading it. 😂
You are British. I, being an Indian, also follow British English.
My language is a mix of Welsh and English so my writing is often the worst of both worlds.

Do you see it in class/at work or just online? Online or through text shouldn't count because everyone goes into slang speaking mode
You have a point.👍💯
I'm not a native English speaker. Making mistakes is normal and everybody makes them.
I don't think your native language is your weakest. What happens is that some people don't care about the way they write or they don't read much.
English is very tricky because it has about a thousand different rules and about a thousand exceptions to each rule. English is also one of those languages that depends on where you’re coming from. Like for example, British English is different from American English.
A casual website might not be the best testing ground for formal grammar.
True. 💯
I'm really bad at spelling if I didn't have spell check you would be seeing me write there instead of their.
Grammarly?
no, my keyboard has spell check on it.
Can you name it, please? I want to see that. Maybe I can use it too...
People are mostly being lazy.
“If they can figure out what I was trying to say, it’s good enough”, or something like that.
It's mostly Americans. Because we have an incredibly poor education system. Low standards and a culture of ignorance.
