So I have a speech impediment and I think ever since after high school when I talk to strangers they usually give me looks. It gets me really mad but obviously I’m yelling or starting fights. But it’s like people look at me like “what’s wrong with him” or something like that. Even my parents think they understand but they don’t listen luckily I have a speech therapist that understands and actually stutters but learned how to limit it. But if anyone has the same thing as me or maybe deals with anything else how do you ignore or deal with peoples reactions?

When I was a kid I stuttered bad. Had a speech therapist and everything. Only thing that cured it was singing lessons. Not sure how or why but it worked.
I’ve heard that people that stutter don’t stutter while singing not sure why but I’ve noticed it with me as well. But seems it helps only when singing
Well I joined the choir and sang in front of thousands in school which helped my anxiousness being in front of people speaking (singing) in this case. I also chose to read out loud books for young kids at the public library to help me get a hold of my anxiousness. Not sure what your issue is but for me it was the FEAR of speaking in front of others that triggered my stutter. I no longer stutter at all but I have been on several stages at this point in my life speaking. I wish you the best in conquering this man.
