do you hate being a man/woman?
Yes and no.
I am a man, but for my entire life I've felt "feminine". I was always way more empathetic than the rest of the men I saw. I cared more, I put more effort into friendships, I understood people better. It was getting to the point where I was seriously concerned because it was so rare that I felt I had to be fundamentally different or broken in some way.
However, I never really got a good enough answer on my feelings from anyone, and the questions I was asking just seems to pull in all the vitriol from everyone who's been hurt before. I never got a clear answer and all I got was alienation from the only people who would have been able to help me. Seems like everyone in the world was convinced the only possible answer it could ever be is that I'm trans, but I never got a satisfying enough understanding or enough trust from people to know I would be more than a fad, that it was something "real".
Inside, I'm bubbly, caring, sensual, friendly, helpful, I just like life and like to have fun with the people around me. I feel more at ease when I can act like this (usually only online). I want to dress more stylishly, I love the variety in women's fashion, I like the idea of looking "cute".
However, outside, I'm a 6ft large imposing man with RBF who doesn't notice when I'm staring holes into someone during a conversation. I'm intense and intimidating, and it really makes me sad to be like this, but I don't know how to not. I'm probably some kind of neurodivergent which makes it all even more of a pain in the ass to navigate.
At the same time. I don't feel comfortable going fully into being more feminine. I enjoy the power and sex appeal that comes with being strong and intimidating. I know that many many many people would not look at me the same if I was more feminine. Not even just that I'd have less power or something, but just they'd look at me as a lesser person.
If it was just men doing it, I wouldn't have a problem. I could easily say fuck them all and live how I like, but I am insecure about women. Many women would throw me to the side for not being strong for them. They'd treat me like I'm a loser who "gave up" or something.
Not all women are like this obviously, but I have an impossible time believing that I wouldn't just be a side attraction for anyone who takes interest. Not someone to take seriously, not as a man, not as someone capable, but practically as just some slut they can have fun with or some curiosity they'll eventually get bored of when they start wanting kids.
I'm stuck. I don't feel like I get to be happy either way, so I'm just doing what makes sense to me as I go and trying to figure out it. Now I'm 30, I don't have the room to grow and change that would be needed to successfully transition, so I'm kind of just me.
I think it's not so much that I hate my own gender. I just really fucking hate the concept of gender so much that it's blinding.

+1 yBeing a guy is pretty awesome sometimes I'm not gonna lie lol.
Sometimes I wish I could do some of the things women can so much easier than guys. But sometimes I notice things women have to go through that men don't so I guess they both have their good and bad.

+1 yHate is a strong word and no I don't hate being a woman, why should I? Women have come a long way to being able to turn upside down this patriarchal society that we live in. We are now able to vote, gamble, work outside the home, buy pretty much what we want (if we can afford it), go to college, drive, the list goes on, and I am PROUD to be able to have the choices we have nowadays! Thanks to the women before me and the U. S. laws that made it possible but really, it's the unwavering passion and desire to make positive changes in women's hearts and mind that allowed this to be possible! Thank you thank you thank you!
That's like me being black and saying thank you to Martin Luther King or Rosa Parks! Hell, even Abe Lincoln who ABOLISHED slavery!

+1 yI'm happy being a woman.
Good reasons:
1. I get to carry a baby and always have that deep connection.
2. I never get asked to carry anything heavy.
3. I look innocent so could problaby get away with a lot..
4. The law favors women...
5. I could easily get a job where there are most men because they want to evan it out evan if I have no experience or knowledge..
6. Its easy to find a partner as a woman.
Bad things:
1. PERIOD PAIN!!!
2. Hormones
3. People teasing/bullying (not respecting) you because you're not a threat.
4. Child birth.. painful.. and so is pregnancy but both is beautiful too.10 Reply

+1 yYes, there's NO sex, you can't wear anything you want, your choice of sex toys is either very limited or extremely, outrageously expensive, you have to pay your own way through life AND, if you get a girlfriend, you have to pay at least part of hers, too. You get constantly shit on by women. UNLESS, they NEED you for some reason!!
32 Reply- +1 y
I've never had to pay for all or part of a woman's stuff.
You gotta stop dating those gold diggers xD - +1 y
@TheSpaceGnome I haven't dated AT ALL in over 20 years!!
+1 yIm good being a man.
It seems tough being a women: periods, pregnancy, getting hit on all the time, the fear of being raped, bitchy friends. Nah, I'm good.
Then men: more likely to get your children taken away from you, lose half your stuff if you get divorced, to commit suicide, have to act tougher, take the hits before a woman would in conflict, get falsely accused by a woman.
It's not easy for any side. But I'd still rather be a man. 😂11 Reply1.9K opinions shared on Other topic. Definitely hate being the less demanded gender in dating, love and sex and having only 5% of clothing opportunities compared to the opposite sex.

But I'm not going to complain much.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yNo I love it. I can piss standing up. I donāt get periods. Iām physically strong w out even trying to get strong. I donāt have to worry about my looks so much. People donāt bother me so much because theyāre usually intimidated by me, not that that is my intention but it can be good. I donāt stress out or get emotionally as much. Maybe some women donāt either.
00 ReplyI wouldn't say hate, but in comparison some women's clothes look far sexier than men's. Women wear thongs and it's considered sexy, men wear thongs and he is considered gay by some. I guess there are advantages and disadvantages to both male and females
00 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Other topic. I don't hate it, it's what I'm comfortable with. In fact I'd think I'd go insane if it were reversed, men seem to have SO much responsibility on their shoulders.
That would definitely be a major headache. 🤔10 Reply- 494 opinions shared on Other topic.

I think even if it was temporary it would be a good way to understand the struggles women go through and I can stop being part of "the problem".00 Reply
+1 yIf you asked me yesterday I wouldāve said no, but after having read the comments of a youtube video where an OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of guys condoned a 25 year old woman having sex with a 13 year old boy,
Iāve got to say Iām absolutely appalled and disgusted to be a member of my gender right now.

@David4358 Itās a continuation of what Iāve already thought. Men in general just arenāt mature enough nowadays. But neither are most women, obviously

what other men do has nothing to do with your self worth or how you should judge yourself.. your generation and this obsession of putting everybody into neat little boxes based on gender, or race or sexual orientation.. its idiotic and actually racist and sexist. judge individual based on them as a person not what "box" the fit into. judge yourself based on YOU not what others do
- +1 y
@David4358 I mean I do have friends, if that is what you are concerned about.
Itās just I still feel detached from most people
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yEh. I find that the vast, vast, VAST majority of people who claim to hate being their own gender acutally have some other problem. Usually their lives are generally shitty as a result of really poor habits that they have and they find it a convenient excuse to say that being the sex that they are is the issue. That's an actually thing, but it's extremely rare. Most people today who claim that's their thing are full of shit.

+1 yNo, I love being a woman. I hate some experiences of being a woman, but I think men probably also hate some things about being men, itās pretty normal.
00 ReplyI don't hate being a guy but would not be uncomfortable having female genitals and small feminine like breasts. I would still be able to be accepted openly as a guy, and also as a gal if I would choose to on occasion.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yBeing a man is much more fulfilling and there's so much more you can do with life. We're stronger smarter and faster on average. We're better at thinking with our heads and not our hearts. We're natural leaders. We're taken more seriously and are usually able to scare off others. We have the easiest part in having children and our reproductive systems put us through painful cycles. It just seems like there's infinite possibilities being a man.

There's double standards, pros, and cons no matter what gender you are. So, whatever.00 Reply I like being a man, generally. There are times when it's mildly inconvenient, but that's true of anything; nothing in life is without problems.
