They changed the policy without telling me and it was because I mentioned I did uber with my car in the past, so they still haven't fixed the damaged they were suppose too but the monthly pay went up because they changed my policy and made my car a commercial vehicle in their policy increasing my monthly pay, is this even legal?

Probably. Read the fine print of your policy. Virtually certain that it contain language about commercial use. It is also possible that you will have to prove that the damage did not occur as a result of commercial use in order to have it covered.

Bigger companies are reliable so check them out. In school did you ever have a drivers education class & if you did tell your car insurance company that. In addition you can take a defensive driving course as well & that can save you in the long run.

Doing uber automatically changes your usage from personal to commercial use.

Yeah, but they have no way of knowing if you've actually stopped or not. They only insure risk. They know you had an accident while doing commercial uber which was previously unreported. In most cases, they would have cancelled the policy outright.

The reason they would cancel is because they insure the risk and when they find out you weren't truthful with them about how you're using the vehicle, then they can't accurately assess the risk. It's like if you loaned your friend your truck and then found out he was hauling garbage in it instead of going to the beach on vacation. You'd probably be pissed and kick his ass for hauling garbage in your truck without telling you.
