Have you ever ran over an animal, if so what animal was it?

Never has happened to me before but today I ran over a squirrel. Driving around 40mph and this squirrel decided at last minute to jump onto the street…you can already guess what happened. Has this ever happened to you? How did you feel?

I've had a red kite bounce of the windscreen. It was feeding on a squashed fox and didn't take off in time. I saw it fly away ok in my mirror.
I've come close to hitting badgers and foxes, particularly cubs but fortunately not killed any.
I usually have a knife in the car so it would be easy enough to put any animal out of its misery.

Squirrels, I hit a snowy owl once and ran over a coyotes corpse.

Yes, I have run over a squirrel while I was driving on my street. I could hear the crunch.
