There's really not much there you can do. You can accept them, but that doesn't mean you're going to forget about them.

If it's trauma from abuse, a lot of times trauma interferes with trust in other people. The best thing you can do is not punish the next person that comes along for the abuser's mistake.

If it's trauma from loss or a horrible event, everyone's recovery time is different. Some people never get over the loss, because that person made too big of an impact.

I don't really think there's any such thing as overreacting. It affects everyone differently and upsets some people more than others.

Thanks. It’s just that the other person says they can’t not do the things that trigger me. I don’t want to react the way I do… guess i have to be a hermit? Ugh

Have ever looked into a support group? A friend I was in foster care with swears up and down that they help better than therapy. That might be right, just because in a support group, other people understand what you're going through.

I'm including a couple video links. This channel is extremely helpful for trauma, as well as other mental health issues.

Exposure to it can help build your tolerance. For me, it didn't just magically remove any negative feelings I have from said triggers, but it lessened it a lot.

I’ve been advised to avoid things that trigger me.

17 years of trauma, exposure to it again from anyone and I’m a ticking bomb 💣.

I just snap without control of me. I hate not having control.

      Im ok with negative feelings.

      I appreciate your help

Yes. It's scary to face them, and difficult but it makes a difference

By stopping how often you come in contact with them, and by growing up.
