Yes. Take all of my clothes off then offer the guy a bear hug. When they back away take a few steps forward then start to chase them down. The important bit is to chase with the gesture of arms wide to give the hug to instigate fear and emotional damage.
I've studied Krav Maga mostly at an avoid trouble at all costs level, but also how to strike someone really hard without warning then run like hell straight afterwards, best way is to strike without warning and never threaten,,,
I started about 35, I can't say I learnt it, lifetime student of the philosophy of avoiding trouble in the first place, it's a very peaceful way imho, I got into it after handguns were banned in UK,,, I carry a "mugging wallet" filled with expired bank cards and very low value currency, photo of a female cousin (my girlfriend - not real girlfriend lol), it looks very convincing, if I ever get mugged, I will just plead for just the photo, convincing huh?
hmmm, to an extent, yes. If I get attacked, I do know what I should be doing to protect myself, and I have not learned any self defence in that sense, but I have had close people go over it with me.
Sounds like you got good friends! I'm glad you practiced with them. Hopefully you'll never need to put what you learnt to use but if it ever happens, I'm glad to hear that you'll do fine! Get just enough time to make them get off or lose their balance and escape before calling the cops.
You're most welcome! Sadly life's been very tough on me but I've finally learnt some good tricks up my sleeps and I will keep learning but yeah! I also hope I never have to use them!
How long did it take you to learn? I wanted to learn when I was younger and I should have after being harassed many times.. stalked, molested, rape attempts, threats and stuff.. It's just that there was no self defence classes near my house. So, it sucked. I know few tricks now but I never took classes
A decent supplement would be video tutorials and a training partner. Or if you're ok with pain, hit trees or wood planks. Hurts like a bitch but it toughens you up
Anytime. Also, elbow strikes work well. It hits harder and in a more focused point. Good if you can hit them in their mouth, it'll knock out the teeth pretty easily
That's a great idea. You don't even need to practice much for that, lol. Definitely I'll try to hit them in their mouth or even nose. I heard targetting their nose can make them lose their balance for few seconds!
You need to be tough for that. I don't have what it takes to kill someone even in self-defence. I feel guilty easily over many thing. I accidentally stepped on a bug as a kid and kept feeling bad for a day (which I know is pretty stupid). I grew up but even if I accidentally trip someone or bump into someone, I apologise at least 5 times so if I kill in self defence, I think I'll probably feel bad and have nightmares all my life. (I do have nightmares every now and then. Had them a lot as a kid). So, I'd rather hit them enough so they lose their balance or get unconscious until I call the cops. 😅
But if you have to do it and you do, I would understand that it was needed because they started it first by attacking you and their goal was to take your life.
I have taken a few classes but never enough to truly lock it in. Which I would really love to do. I would like to become good at Krav Maga, Brazilian jujitsu, and perhaps boxing
Yeah i should... once i was w my cousin and these two guys came on one bike to take out money n phone etc... for a sec i thought of either doin something or running but i had a second thought that im not alone and my cousin is w me too... and probably he was thinkin same... so we both gave out stuff
I was taught how to defend myself by my Grandfather and Father both ex British Army but not your normal enlisted. I was taught to end the fight in the shortest time possible, it works.
That's awesome! Height doesn't matter that much if you got tricks up your sleeves which is enough for you to make them get off you so you could escape and call the cops. So, I hope you never got to use your moves but if you did, I know you'll be fine!
One of my judo instructors was assaulted and raped a few years ago, she's a black belt. She was overpowered and got her jaw broke then raped. I've played about with my husband using some self defence moves, it always ends with him overpowering me very easily.
After being beaten up several times, I started fighting back and realized that I could inflict serious damage! I now hope the attacker can defend themselves from me.
Stupid me used to just freeze because I was so shocked and scared until few years ago. I didn't know how to react and defend myself. At least you know when to run, lol

Very impressive!! How old were you when you learned it and how long did it take you to learn it?
I started about 35, I can't say I learnt it, lifetime student of the philosophy of avoiding trouble in the first place, it's a very peaceful way imho, I got into it after handguns were banned in UK,,, I carry a "mugging wallet" filled with expired bank cards and very low value currency, photo of a female cousin (my girlfriend - not real girlfriend lol), it looks very convincing, if I ever get mugged, I will just plead for just the photo, convincing huh?
I carry around a screwdriver with me on the train. Just in case, you know, I have to tighten a screw...
Scary thought! 😳
Good idea. You never know when you might have to screw someone... er, I mean something.
I do actually.
Trained in combative from military. Also trained in Kyuki-Do and I received concealed carry training and permit.
Wow. That's really cool!

yes exactly! thank you so much, and hopefully you won’t need to use it either. stay safe!🥰
You're most welcome! Sadly life's been very tough on me but I've finally learnt some good tricks up my sleeps and I will keep learning but yeah! I also hope I never have to use them!
Awwww! You too, lovely! 😇❤️
Yeap. My go to would be a firearm. If not, pankration. Been going since I was like, 23 if memory serves
Yoh learnt Pankration!!! Wow...😳 I'm very impressed.
I bet now nobody can mess with you, lol
Plenty still do try, I don't always win but they have to work hard to get that win. But I'd still rather blow a hole in their dome.
You'll get there soon with just enough practice!
And yeah, I can understand. Sometimes you do what you have got to do. 😅
Oh yeah, it's bloody but I get as much in as I can
Yeap. But I'm not afraid to make a mess if need be.

About 7 years
A decent supplement would be video tutorials and a training partner. Or if you're ok with pain, hit trees or wood planks. Hurts like a bitch but it toughens you up
7 years of hard work and dedication. Hats off to you 😳
I feel like I'm too old now to learn, lol. But maybe you're right. I should try hitting wood planks. Thank you so much!
Nonsense, it's never too late until you're dead.
Anytime. Also, elbow strikes work well. It hits harder and in a more focused point. Good if you can hit them in their mouth, it'll knock out the teeth pretty easily
Aye Aye! I feel motivated now.
That's a great idea. You don't even need to practice much for that, lol. Definitely I'll try to hit them in their mouth or even nose. I heard targetting their nose can make them lose their balance for few seconds!
Yeap, or kill them if you hit them right or hard enough. Which far as I'm concerned, good riddance
You need to be tough for that. I don't have what it takes to kill someone even in self-defence. I feel guilty easily over many thing. I accidentally stepped on a bug as a kid and kept feeling bad for a day (which I know is pretty stupid). That's because you're a good, mentally healthy person. I'm neither, and I have 0 issue with violence or death. So just call me :)
No. No one taught me how to fight and i did not have any money for self defense classes or Even food.
Wish i had a firearm to protect myself.
I hope you will never have to deal with attack.
Fortunately not for years now. Still i don't think i will easily win attacks given my situation.
Just keep something with you for self defence just in case. Take care
Right o
I have taken a few classes but never enough to truly lock it in. Which I would really love to do. I would like to become good at Krav Maga, Brazilian jujitsu, and perhaps boxing
That's awesome choices! I'd like to learn kick boxing someday!!
Thank you! Kick boxing would be super cool.
Yeah! You're welcome, Grond 😇
Nope.. I carry a knife, if anyone attacks me I'll aim for their neck
Understandale
Well in middle school I taught myself how to high kick and last year I took a self defense class with a family friend
Nice!!
I do. Most of my self-defense training is with firearms.
That's awesome!
Not really. I can slap or try to punch someone but I'm well aware I'm not physically strong enough to fight someone.
We should take self defence classes together, lol
Absolutely. Every woman should.
Im good at running but irdk self defence... and I've tried to learn few of internet stuff but can't really rely on them
If you can, join some classes or at least try some strategy with friends? Practice makes it perfect
Yeah i should... once i was w my cousin and these two guys came on one bike to take out money n phone etc... for a sec i thought of either doin something or running but i had a second thought that im not alone and my cousin is w me too... and probably he was thinkin same... so we both gave out stuff
I feel like I could do some stuff to defend my self. I've been doing self defense classes for a few years. I still do belt class and fight night.
I'm glad to hear that!
I was taught how to defend myself by my Grandfather and Father both ex British Army but not your normal enlisted.
I was taught to end the fight in the shortest time possible, it works.
That's so awesome!
Well I'm only 4ft10. I've had some judo and boxing training. Hopefully I know enough to avoid injury and be able to escape the situation
That's awesome! Height doesn't matter that much if you got tricks up your sleeves which is enough for you to make them get off you so you could escape and call the cops. So, I hope you never got to use your moves but if you did, I know you'll be fine!
I'm scared already lol,
One of my judo instructors was assaulted and raped a few years ago, she's a black belt. She was overpowered and got her jaw broke then raped.
I've played about with my husband using some self defence moves, it always ends with him overpowering me very easily.
After being beaten up several times, I started fighting back and realized that I could inflict serious damage! I now hope the attacker can defend themselves from me.
I'm sorry to hear that but I'm glad nobody could mess with you now
I got beat up a lot as a kid and I started fighting back. That's when I learned how to defend
I'm so sorry to hear that 😔
Its just the way it was
The only thing I can do or know is run away 😭
Baaki Kuch nahi pta mujhe 😅
LOL! At least you can run...🤣
Stupid me used to just freeze because I was so shocked and scared until few years ago. I didn't know how to react and defend myself. At least you know when to run, lol
At least now you know 😉😂
I used to be eager to learn karate when I was a kid but I couldn't learn that unfortunately.
Aww... Well, it's never too late. You could still learn kick boxing or something!
Best self defense is to avoid dangerous situations no matter how secure your society might to be.
