Should offices allow employees to start wearing body cameras at work?

A body camera can be bought for $59.00 and would offer great protection whenever there are mixed gender meetings or interactions. Men might be willing to mentor women more if all of the interactions were recorded and stored.

absolutely. workers should act professionally at work anyways so there's no harm in having body cameras

too many people get away with bullying and harassment or lying about such incidents and a body camera will clear up everything

Probably a good idea, but I would be moreinterested in not rewarding women for making up stories of being raped or sexually abused for financial and career rewards.

In certain settings, yes. Especially when bullying, harassment, false accusations, and sexual harassment are common place. Thats definitely a way to ensure liability



Medical… HELL NO! That’s invasion of privacy and big time HIPPA violations. Thats why medical facilities like nursing homes and hospitals have security cameras.

I work in a facility where security cameras are literally everywhere. I’m recorded all day long anyway. My computer usage is even monitored. So body cams wouldn’t bother me. I don’t do or say anything at work that would be problematic if someone recorded me.

I’m sure there will be a lot of privacy issues with that and make some people feel uncomfortable, but probably have to let everyone know when it’s on

As an individual it depends on state law. For example, in NC I can record whatever between one other and myself. The SECOND that another is within recording range I must immediately disclose that I’m recording or it is a FELONY.

maybe consult your business and suggest, for security and workplace equality concerns that THEY place cameras throughout. The visible presence of cameras is enough in most states to cover “advising” of potential recordees.

I'm agreeing with using body cameras because corporate will record you all the damn time anyway and most of the time when you were walking out in public you're getting caught by some kind of camera.

Where I work, no video recording is allowed at all except by an authorized corporate videographer. Too much classified information viewable.

just saying its really really excessive, its not like they're cops, and people could you use to leak work stuff or post stuff from employees that's not very flattering online. yea there's women who do falsely accuse dudes and stuff but that's really uncommon. most women aren't that down bad to make someone fall for their own gain, just like not that many dudes would falsely accuse another dude of something else to get $$$$ unless he's a fucking asshole

if you can just chose to have one i guess you could but it depends what type of job you have (like if its corporate no) and there should be restrictions into who can have that (like background check, criminal record) and also the employers need to consent. but still its really excessive though unless you feel like a particular woman is crazy and could do bad things to you

If it's corporate it's especially important to have a body camera. Why excessive? Let's protect women from men and men from women. You can't make up a false accusation and if a guy is being "creepy" you have video evidence. Again, if you are behaving properly what are you afraid of?
