What happened the first time you smoked pot?

The first time was actually some blond Lebanese hash in 10th grade. I bought a gram from some guy.

I took it home and made a pipe out of one of those cardboard coat hanger tubes. No one was home, so I went into the back bathroom, opened the window, sat on the rug, and took two or three puffs.

In just a few minutes, I got really high. I was wobbly and my head was kind of spinning. I picked up the pipe and matches and half crawled to my bedroom, flopped onto the bed and went to sleep.

When I woke up, I looked for the little piece of tin foil that contained the hash, but I couldn't find it. By then, my parents were home. I went back to the bathroom, terrified that I had left the hash there and that someone might have found it. But there it was on the carpet. Whew!

The second time I smoked was when I went to a park where a lot of "hippie" kids from high school were having a gathering to play frizbee, skateboard, hang out, and play music. I was sitting in a circle with some friends and other people and someone passed me a joint. It went around a few times. I got pretty high.

I got up and went to sit on a grassy slope to look out over the park. I got the giggles and started laughing to myself for no reason.

I laughed my ass off with my buddies.

That was back in 1970, when pot (Mexican) was fun.

I stopped using pot around 1980, when Mexican got replaced by the Colombian, and who-knows-what else that began to come in. It would just make me feel like crap, with stomachaches and general unwellness.

Fast forward to a couple of years ago. I've tried some legal stuff.

I've had a few wonderful trips, reminiscent of LSD. I've also had a very little bit of euphoria a time or two.

I've also experienced severe paranoia, severe physical unwellness, vomiting, the shakes, unbreakable couch-lock, a buzzed feeling but without euphoria (what's the point in that).

If the trippy, euphoria inducing properties were to be isolated for consumption, I'd be a fan.

As it is, the bad far outweighs the good in my experience.

Pretty much nothing... maybe 15 minutes of feeling slightly drunk and finding everything funny. To get a "real" THC impact, you have to smoke pot regularly.
