There are many people who claim the Earth is Flat, and are labelled as Flat Earthers.
Science has proven, over and over, that the Earth is round, a globe, or to be more specific, an oblate spheroid. The Ancient Greeks, more than two thousand years ago, knew the Earth was a globe, and even measured how big it was, with an amazing 10% accuracy compared to modern measurements.
So, the big question...
Do Flat Earthers really believe that the Earth is Flat?
Or do they enjoy getting people to believe what they are saying, and make money from it?

Why would ANYONE intentionally act THAT stupid?
I don’t think “many” is an accurate description. Last i checked, it was estimated that 2% of the US firmly believes in a flat Earth and barely more than double that are unsure.
To be perfectly fair, if you haven’t done the math or gone into space yourself, being unsure is perfectly reasonable. You don’t have the facts. You have been told that the Earth is round, and you believe it despite the fact that literally EVERYTHING you might point to as “evidence” could quite easily be faked to fool people who can’t do the math and have never been to space.
The hole in flat Earth theory that can’t be dismissed is that a conspiracy that huge would be extremely expensive to maintain; especially in an age where so many more people are asking questions that previous generations refused to ask. Is round Earth theory really making enough money to pull that off?

I sure don’t think so. Even if it is, who’s getting rich from it? Usually you can follow the stink of bullsh*t to a pile of money. When someone finds that pot o’ gold, i’ll move my bet to ‘maybe’. Until then, i’m a firm round Earther who is aware that there is a tremendous amount of FAITH in that understanding because i have never done the math and i’ve never been to space.
My theory on flat Earth theory is that it was started by the powers that be as a litmus test for how much control they retain. If the numbers grow, they have reason to be concerned. Everything government does is designed to keep people separated. If the people who refuse to believe the truth ally with the people who refuse to accept the lies of the status quo, those in power could have something to worry about.
Some might just be in it for a laugh, but I think the majority really do believe.
The flat Earth bit is just the tip of the iceberg with these people. Beneath it is the idea they're smarter than everyone else. Sure, people laugh at them, but they laughed at Galileo, and he was right so masses are always proved wrong and the mocked minority declared geniuses.
Teachers, scientists, society are all lying to you and you've got to think for yourself and do your own research. That thinking for yourself means listening to me and own research is a few YouTube videos
But it's enough to convince them they're smarter than everyone and keepers of forbidden knowledge. And for some with no power or authority that's a huge ego boost
Carn't be flat, cos the kitties would have pushed everything off the edge by now otherwise. Not really sure what their reason is, but I'd like to have a word about the timings and viabilities of certain flight plans...

It’s a fact. The earth is as flat as a pancake. Thank goodness we can’t fall off the edge. And what’s on the dark side of the disk we call earth is a mystery.
