How do they explain pics of the earth from the moon, pics from the ISS or other pics plainly showing the curvature of the earth?

well, first off- i'm not saying i believe in flat earth- but i get their point of view.

second, their model of flat earth is not one in which you can 'fall off'.

third, some things they say are true. they say that there is no empirical evidence that the world is a sphere. what about all the pictures of earth from space? they have all been proven to be forgeries by experts in computer graphics.

the newest way that nasa forges earth pictures is from something called a fish-eye lens, which creates a natural curvature in the picture it produces. the reality is that if the earth is the size that they say it is, and it's a sphere, you should be able to begin seeing the horizon curve away from you long before you make it into space. the earth is really not that big in the grand scheme of things.

also- they have super high resolution scans of the earth taken from satellites and conglomerated them together into one super-large picture of the earth. this map is called "blue marble" and is freely available for download on the internet. all of the pictures of earth from space are made by wrapping blue marble around a virtual reality sphere and then creating a life-like rendering. it's actually old technology. star trek was doing it in the early 1980s

i think the answer is more science based rather than technology based. if you took high school physics and bothered to remember the light experiments, you remember that light is a wave that can propagate through various mediums. that's why when you look through thick glass, the object looks distorted on the other side. because the speed of light through glass is much slower than the speed of light through air.

but what if light is traveling in a vacuum, such as it does in space? well, light becomes this other thing called a photon. i think that it's possible we don't have pictures of earth from deep space because it's not possible to get visual pictures because light is in it's photon form.

we have 2 stationary satellites in deep space called stereo A and stereo B that are so far out, they can see mercury, venus, and earth simultaneously. but they only send back radio images. no optical images. why is that? it would be very easy for nasa to have included optical cameras on these satellites but they chose not to bother. why?

it's almost like nasa is doing everything they can to ENCOURAGE conspiracy theorists by simply not doing the thing that would easily prove otherwise. and on top of that they also create these RIDICULOUS animations that are OBVIOUS fakes to anyone who's ever bothered to study CG.

i think that if my idea is right, that people would be freaked out at the idea that you're effectively blind in space and there's nothing to "see" with normal vision.

Flat earthers don't exist, it's a perjorative term used by totalitarian narcissists and psychopaths to stifle debate on issues they demand conformity on, usually based on ludicrous factual inaccuracies.

Climate debates are bedevilled by evangelists claiming that skeptics are 'flat earthers'. Those of us (including me), who have spent many years examining a whole range of information, data, hypotheses about how climate works, how it changes, what influences what, know that the simplistic 'increasing carbon dioxide is frying us all!' nonsense is totally lacking in credible scientific evidence. We don't believe that temperature doesn't change over the centuries, of course it does. We heartily agree that it got warmer between 1977 and 2000, but we contest claims that it's been getting much warmer, much faster in the 21st century.

So when you hear someone use the term 'flat earther', you need to immediately ask yourselves: 'what is it that they are so afraid of examining that they have to stifle the voices of those who maybe have examined it?'

I used to think that these people were just being ironic.

But it's way beyond that, it's batshit insanity and unhinged magical thinking.

All you need to prove the curvature of the earth is a ham radio and the ability to do math. Or just to simply google and conduct any of the dozen or more high school level experiments to obtain verification.

But I know it's not flat because of the sunset, when the bottom portion of a cloud is red and the top is dark. Meaning the sun is below the horizon.

Flat earthers believe the earth is a round disk. Pictures from the moon show the Earth as a round disk, not problem. Per them, the ISS just circles over the flat circular disk at a fixed altitude. Ground-level pics showing the curvature of the earth are often dismissed as being distortions caused by the camera lens.
