There are many people who say that the Earth is Flat. Science says that the Earth is an oblate sphere, not completely round like a ball, but a little bit fatter at the Equator.
Do Flat Earthers really believe that the Earth is Flat? Or, do they just like to debate and make money via YouTube videos, Flat Earth conferences, books, podcasts, etc?

Earth is spherical. A photo of this precious bumble marble was taken just recently on Apollo 1972. Yes our technology now is improved but Nasa was busy with Elon Musk how to take us at Mars. Missions have failed so far but all is well. We live on a spinning ball and we are going nowhere. Earthlings by scientist are just a cute- scum of universe given us names as homosapiens previously they said we probably came from monkeys but they edited that in the 1990s. Well whatever we are just spinning that’s all it matters. Others don’t matter much since we came here randomly and now spinning. That was kind of them. NASA wants to try to explore the galaxy , stars and all this planets balls spinning on the universe like Jupiter etc. Well they do kill you if you want to explore Antarctica and they hide us lands , we only know a part of the “earth” but that’s because they love us. It’s for our good. We have no reasons other than living and dying and oh don’t forget to pay your rent you cute- scum. Back to the question. Since our planet rotates up and down I often feel dizzy at times but that ok I take a Tylenol. NASA was a corporation created long long long veryyyy LONG time ago on 1958.
There is no way earth is a plane ( planet) flat and a stationary realm with souls that look out for nirvana and once they die to enter a better place. Flat earth was discovered recently like so recently on
pre-Socrates times. I mean that’s merely on the 5th century BC. I was eating frozen yogurt went stupid Socrates and ancient scientists back then that never suffered any disease were mentally healthy working with angels extraterritorial coming from the sky rather than earthling gray aliens. Gray aliens want to learn how to pass the blue sky filaments but NASA as always they want out beat so they don’t tell the evil side how to pass the blue filament and depart to the universe. They only told this to Apollo when the went to the moon.
I'm sure a few do but like most oddball ideas its more about going add against mainstream science for the sake of it. We all know that historically there's been a few bright sparks that have went against mainstream view and been proved right. Flat earthers, like most conspiracy theorists, believe going against the grain therefore makes them more intelligent.
Most of them are probably just doing it for fun and to get attention. Only a miniature amount actually believe this. Do you think green potato chips are poisonous? Most people know they are not. But some say they are poisonous because it's fun.
I shouldn't speak for flat earthers but no, I don't think they really believe the Earth is flat. I think they just enjoy rejecting science that they haven't personally verified, even when it obviously works.

Yes, they actually believe that. I had a friend who was a flat-earther.
I had to break off the friendship. He was more committed to conspiracies than real life. It was crazy.
He really believe there was an ice wall surrounding the flat earth.
It has two meanings:
1. a person who holds outdated or disproven beliefs
2. people who genuinely think the Earth is flat
I've never come across a person that believes that the Earth is flat.
When a plane leaves America for the far East, they fly West. If the Earth was flat, how could flying West, get you East?
Not sure how a flat earth would work with respect to seasons, would it not be the same season throughout the year when the sun is at it's maximum? If the earth was flat, we would get the same weather as what is at the equator, so palm trees would grow in Canada.

Very early on sailors noticed that the shore disappeared as the sailed away and this was exploited in the Iliad. Those on shore could see a curvature to the sea. The belief that people though the earth flat in olden times is misbegotten. The first question is why they would think they'd needed to think of the earth as any particular shape anyway?
Flat earthers have a lot of reality to contradict and I don't have any insight as to why. Some people seem to like conspiracy theories. I'm willing to write them off as nutters and think no more.
While I have no doubt there are certainly some grifters out there, I think we have to be willing to engage flat earthers honestly and just meet them where they're at. When you start from a position of trying to tell someone else what their position is, you're guaranteed to convince no one of anything.
Like theists trying to tell me as an atheist I secretly do believe a god exists.

We still have many people who believe that we actually traveled to the moon in the late 1960's!!! 1960's? Early 1970's!!! Are you kidding me? And not just once!!! BUT a few times!!! Walking around the moon sticking our flag up there!!! Yeah, right! In those days, our advancement in space travel was less than 12%!!! BUT the "average Joe" wants to believe it? That's fine! When we cannot even do it nowadays that easily, and simple space travels just outside of our atmosphere has had incidents and loss of lives!!! Go figure!!

I think they are trolls. You'd have to be pretty damn stupid to believe the world is flat. Anyone stupid enough to believe it wouldn't be able to articulate the argument like they do. So they gotta be trolls.
Although as an ex-draftsman, I think of "flat" in a different way. If I were to dimension and spec something as "flat", the Earth would fall well within that definition if it were smooth instead of bumpy.
never met one. I saw the video of the guy that built a rocket to prove it's flat... and crashed, was killed. I assume he believed. Probably still believed.
Maybe we should have a study on why they think the way they do. Clearly, some brains would be perceiving things differently.
I believe THEY believe it, and they think every photo ever taken by a satellite or spacecraft is fake too, because you only see one side of the sphere. LOL Next time I talk to one, I'll have to ask if they believe any other planets are flat too, or if they all are?

I personally lost a friend who walked right off the edge of the earth and fell directly onto the surface of the sun, which as most people know is very, very hot. He had scars on the soles of his feet to prove it too but no one has seen him since he reported it to the state police. I think they killed him. Keep that on the qt, Ok?
I have heard that QAnoners do believe it is flat, not sure. Well, if indeed they do, then this means they don't believe in science at all. Scary concept to think she believe in that.
did you ever notice planet earth has continous curves... so right there it debunks the earth is flat... oh yeah there's pictures of planet earth from space debunking that myth too.
They do. They also think that covid is a hoax, vaccines cause autism, and Trump is still president. But the Jan. 6 investigation is still on-going so they better watch themselves.
