Where would you donate lots of new or near near clothes?

I'm thinking of making a huge donation to the battered women's shelter near me

I have lots of great stuff, but I have a problem. Sometimes I over shop.

Many say sell it, but I really don't want to go though the hassle of that.

I just had a thought

A lot of women would love to look and feel pretty of something tragic. I think it would really boost their mood.

Any donation is good but a pastor I know who was familiar with these charities said homeless people - not women but homeless people - value sock donations more than any other clothing item because that is what they run through and require replacements for the most.

You could also donate to charities that help new aspiring employees find attractive clothes to wear to their job interviews so they can get hired. I know a lot of poor people are not able to get jobs because they can't afford clothes that make them look like they fit the business world, and homeless people can't find jobs cause they do not have access to a shower, some might find a sweet employer but many will ghost them cause they don't care.

I think if you do not know what to donate, money might be good if you trust the business, because charities have complex needs they do not have time to communicate to others in a short interview. I also know that in my area, 1 in 3 children eat from food banks because the cost of living has gone up so canned food or money to a food bank would help a lot of people.

Volunteers from our local churches stop by our house to pick up our donations.

It's up to the churches to decide what to do with the items we donate.

Schools if clothing items are smaller sizes. Churches and other religious organizations IF they actually assist those in need in the general public. Homeless assistance groups. Women's shelters. Goodwill.

We take ours to either Goodwill or a local drop-off bin.

You can donate to goodwill or Salvation Army or St. Vincent De Paul … there’s also resale shops where you get a percentage of what is sold and they get a percentage…

Local thrift shops is where I give good clothes to or the clothing bins but they usually turn them into rags, some local charities also
