a lifetime supply of someone to talk to. It gets lonely where I live. I moved her not long ago. My family is all gone and I don't have any friends. I'm a writer and I do like the quiet sometimes. With my diabetes though, it can get risky being by myself all the time.

It does kind of suck when you don't have anyone to talk to about that new book you read or you wanted to get someone's opinion on something you heard, or you had a dream last night and you really wanted to tell someone about it.

Writers are lonely people anyway, but in the end, I know it's going to cost me! lol.

@msc545 She lost most of her tail, but it's still the perfect length for her. She's very loving and would sit outside my door in my compound for hours. A few officers who didn't like me tried to pull that "no mascot/pets/something something/I ignore them" a couple times. They never liked how that played out. One got so mouthy he had to get put down on the ground "for his safety" and escorted out of my compound by NATO MPs. He learned how to say Sir real fast after that.

@msc545 No i was a DAC (DA civilian) doing special programs after my regular enlistment time, but I was in charge of my compound which was US soil for "other purposes" so when nato officers got stupid i could remind them of the exchange rate

@msc545 I got a stint. The paramedics were all kinds of "meh" since my BP was 160/95 and heart rate was 95, but normal for me is 105/75 and resting heart rat is 44. There was no pain, no pressure, just a light tickle and diarrhea. TThe ER doc was like "how are you walking?" They said as long as that part of my heart had gone without oxygen, if I hadn't been in such otherwise great shape I wouldn't have made it. Stopped smoking that day. That was my only real vice. Wasn't going to leave the rescue kittens behind and have them wonder why daddy doesn't come home and play anymore.

Since I've never really been on to do things in moderation, I did adopt a pretty aggressive Mediterranean diet though. I make my own bread, my own condiments. I know every bit of salt and fat going in. After last blood panel, triglycerides are at 40 and LDL is at 12. Genetics are working against me, but I'm not one to just lie down and take it. Hence the weekly ruck marches too, and them getting longer and longer.
