Not anymore. I first encountered that behavior from a college professor- one who would go on to flip out at another student for calling him "Mister" instead of "Doctor" and then threatened to kick me out of class when I asked where he did his residency. That kind of thing stops affecting you pretty quickly.
That's funny. When my cousin was in college, he called his professor by his first name, because the professor called the students by their first names. He flipped out on my cousin, and from that day forward, he had to call my cousin "Sir." And he did.
OK, ok. You don't want your personal opinion to be put down. I get that. But there might be a few personal opinions that could be "wrong."
Like, having sex with children is OK. Raping women is fine. All democrats/republicans are idiots. Mustangs are stupid cars... The first three are definitely wrong. With explanation, as in the engine is too small, too slow etc.. Well not STUPID, but below average...

I read your entire statement. You said you gave your personal opinion on dating. Person disagreed and said you were wrong. You didn't give the details of what you said, but in his opinion, he felt that what you said was wrong. Remember, he's entitled to his opinion of what you said.
I don't think it's best to say someone's opinion, except in rare cases, is wrong. You have to disagree with them. That's polite and rational. But people are often not polite nor rational.
And I gave examples that were not extreme. You gave the stupid extreme answers to make people think you're smart. What's your favorite color? Tell the truth or I'll call you a pedophile.
What does this matter? You can call me a pedophile all you want. I didn't give those answers to make people think anything except there ARE SOME wrong answers. And that people can call an opinion you give wrong. It's not polite to say so of a mild opinion difference, but simply a disagreement.
It depends on the opinion, because some opinions are wrong. Opinions like "My favorite color is green." or "My favorite food is sushi." can't be wrong but opinions like "Men have it so much easier than women." can be wrong and this is case it is wrong.
You gave an example of something that is NOT a fact. I like Coke better than Pepsi, and that is a fact. If someone disagrees, I just ask that they not post over my opinion. Why can't they just post their own opinion?
Honestly I could care less. If they're so opinionated they forget the difference between subjective and objective right and wrong than they aren't worth my time.

My opinion was that the Internet set back dating, big-time. Some guy told me I was wrong. I'm not wrong, because it's my opinion. I know women who've been on the same dating site for 15 years, and can't figure out why it doesn't work.
It really is very simple. In the online world, women go for the hot guys. In the real world, the hot guys have no "game." They don't need to develop "game" online. Someone asked what our opinions are on how to make the site better. I gave a list of about 5 things, and some guy said I was wrong. What? I wasn't speaking for anyone but myself. I listed 5 things that would make the site better for ME, not HIM.
