Overall, I just look at myself objectively and respond accordingly to how I know what impacts my mental well being. I know what my triggers are and what habits that lead me down a rabbit hole of negative mental state (suicidal tendencies, anger issues, etc.)
I've looked over bad habits, then worked on them. For example, hitting shit when angry doesn't help, but worsens it, since it makes your brain think it's okay to be aggressive when angry. It doesn't mean I never act on them like some robot, but I've significantly lessened the amount of times I do.
By the same token, I try to have habits that improve my mental state as well. I have a consistent routine of waking up early everyday around 7 AM, and I keep myself busy by working towards goals whether it's career or hobby based. Also, I sometimes let myself feel depressed at night, so I can feel and reflect any negative emotions I've put aside.
Anyway, this is just my experience of what helped me. I'm not saying it's guaranteed to help anyone, as everyone is different.
Try writing. Write in a journal, write a short story, or go big and write a novel. Giving your characters emotions transfers all that negative energy out of your body into them and they don't mind. They're fictional, so they don't care what you put them through. If my characters were real people, they would probably bury me alive, just because I put them through so much!
Writing in a journal before you go to sleep helps too. It gets all those thoughts on paper. Honestly, I would do both, write in a journal and write a short story. It will keep your brain away from anxiety. It's done wonders for me. I ended writing 7 novels this past year, including 3 in a book series, and when I finish book 4, it will be 9.
Writing though, trust me! It works!
This may be a habit that stemmed from my childhood but whenever I feel like the world is crumpling up around me I sit at the edge of my bed and plant me shoes firmly on the floor.
It helps to remind yourself that you are fine. That you’re not in a horrible mentally draining situation. That you are perfectly fine and that there is no reason to be unhappy. Usually I have to count to ten or remember a loved one to help calm myself down. Other times if it gets really bad I have to grip something tightly. Such as my arm or my leg.
Another way I deal with this is by blasting music. It’s cringe and all but it distracts me. Usually I associate different pieces with different joyous moments. The melodies delude me into believing that I’m fine.
Lastly if none of these methods work I obsessively clean. Or break down=crying.

When I'm feeling depressed I work out and that sometimes helps me feel better
This may not be the best thing to do if you're already tired, but getting busy doing something, anything, helps me in that regard.
I have bipolar disorder with depressive, anxiety-ridden periods at the same time that I'm manic, so I have the energy to keep up activities.

I use music to help me. When I feel I'm getting to that point, I start playing feel good music which usually helps. Sometimes listening to somber music helps as well. But all in all it just helps me push through it and not resort to other things like overdosing on sleep meds (which I used to use to self medicate).
Etc. You do something other than sit around and feel sorry for yourself.
Gotta be physically active and eat cleaner. Find some exciting hobbies to focus on and make some more friends or hang out with those you like the most. I suggest avoiding alcohol as it always made it worse for me. Also try to avoid negative social media. Live in the present and plan for the future, don’t get caught up in mistakes you’ve made.

I've been using Heavy Metal and just generally loud, fast, energetic music for that for a long time. Honestly its the only thing thats really worked in my case. The rythms and vocalizing keeps the negativity at bay. Combine that with physical exercise. I've taken bike rides that go for upwards of ten or more miles and I felt great afterwards.
Don't drink too much alcohol. It could make you feel more depressed. Whenever people feel depressed, they sometimes avoid talking to other people. Keep in touch with friends and family and socialize with them until the wave passes. You can also exercise or do some form of mental or physical exercises. Last step should be to seek a therapy especially if the depression gets worse. I wish you the best❤️
I'd suggest you see a psychologist or psychiatrist to find out if this is a continuing problem. If it's been going on for more than 2-3 weeks, you might have a clinical depression that needs treatment. See someone and get professional help.
don‘t try to suppress the feeling because i think that only makes it stronger. accept the feeling, allow yourself to feel it but then change your mind to something more positive, write down 5 things you‘re grateful for, listen to your favorite music, watch a funny movie or talk to a friend 🤍 all the best to you!
I talk to a therapist every 3 weeks and I take antidepressants 😊 learning coping strategies and doing talk therapy really helped me overcome a lot of my issues.

I was diagnosed with MDD back in 2020 and was put on medication. That helped for a while, but eventually, I felt well enough to come off of it. Since then, I’ve found that exercising daily helps. 😊
Like I fight everything else. Overpower it.
Get a better president that KNOWS what he's doing!!
Work out. Get enough sunlight. Eat enough fruits.
I sleep it off. otherwise it stays with me 24/7, it's not a good feeling i wouldn't wish this on my enemies.
distract yourself with games or entertainment. Get a pet like a Cat or something. Maybe try eating your favorite foods. Just don't think about stuff that brings you down in the first place.
