i don't know much about either but you'd have to take into consideration the time period with the mongol empire in the 13th/14th century compared to the romans in BC so there's different technological advancements, warfare, countries etc - plus under genghis khan the mongols supposedly killed MILLIONS and a good percentage of people are descended from him due to how many women he raped along the way so actually maybe the mongols were stronger but the romans more powerful because of their longer influence on the west
It's just 1200 years development between apex of Roman Empire and Mongolian empire. Finally Poles and Hungarians stopped Mongols in 12th century and their further expansion into Europe.
I guess Romans even with less sophisticated armor and weapons could defeat them with ease. Mongols were bow shooting riders like Scythians at time of Romans. Against heavy armored armies like Roman Legions their distance tactics wouldn't work, while they would take damage from Roman ranged units.
Mongol Empire was stronger, I reckon. It seemed bigger. Also, Genghis Khan had many offspring, so I wouldn’t be surprised if my Flower Girl is one.
I'll say Roman just to keep poking the bear.
Which bear?
