Does killing a bug or an animal change for you overtime?

I've found myself showing mercy to harmless bugs that are crawling about near me. Except roaches... hell no. So harmless ones... i may spare. Like tonight, saw one just minding it's own business and cleaning it's face. I wanted it to fk off somewhere else but thought about just cutting it's body in half with my knife... but I let it live. And seeing as lives I could crush, I let them live. (maybe because there's a spider in the area) Maybe this is just me but off the things I've seen died or killed, i guess I'm just being... merciful.

What about y'all? Gonna let that bug live to be someone's meal or kill it on sight?

Yes. When younger I did not differential between bees and wasps. Now I go out of my way to avoid harming bees, but as for the the "a-holes with wings" aka wasps, I have no problem mass exterminating them. Gnats, ticks, fleas, flies? I will kill them all. I leave most spiders alone, save for the very common here Black Widow and occasional Desert Recluse. So yes, it has changed.

As for non-food animals, I would only kill if absolutely necessary.

I used to take that attitude with spiders. Because spiders kill other bugs and spiders don't bother me. But then I started getting overrun with spiders. So I decided to evict them in a moment of genocidal rage. 😆

Depends on the bug. If I find a spider I free it. If I have fruit flies I do dishes then vacuum them in my small handheld vacuum and then feed them to my little carnivorous plant. But I’ve always been like that ever since I was a kid. For animals, it’s harder, but I make my peace with it, shoot and then thank it for feeding my family and I.

I saw a fly in my window yesterday: was dead in less than a minute. I cannot stand insects- and I live in the South so I'm surrounded by everything from roaches to spiders and mosquitoes: I keep bug spray at the ready!

If they land in my home I'm sorry but that's the end of them. If their outside then they can walk away freely.

My cat Allister, if he feels like it, is absolute hell on bugs... sometimes. My Bengal cat Angel, who is not completely tame, will kill anything that moves and is smaller than her.
