Have you ever experienced a very powerful earthquake? How did you feel/react?

I spent the first 46 years of my life in southern California. I've experienced lots of earthquakes. Some of them were pretty strong, but I was never endangered by one.

They don't happen often. I thought they were exciting and kind of fun.

I would much rather deal with the occasional earthquake than yearly tornadoes, hurricanes or blizzards.

I have not been in an earthquake or experienced one unless a great orgasm counts as one. In that case it would be in the thousands!
