I live in Turkey 🇹🇷 a young country. Lands are moving and there are a lot of active fault lines in the country so there are natural disaster especially earthquake news a few times a week this year. We feel alarmed and scared each time there's an earthquake news here and there. I don't wanna die we don't wanna die... That may be too selfish but i really don't wanna die badly like in an earthquake or by drowning, burning, getting killed etc.. I just wanna die naturally maybe in my sleep or with the least pain. So, do earthquakes ever happen in your country or any other kind of natural disasters? Were you affected directly or indirectly?
I live in Virginia and on August 23, 2011, we had a 5.8-magnitude earthquake. It sounded like a dump truck speeding down the road. I looked out the window and our fence gate was open and rattling back and forth. I ran next door to check on my neighbor's school-aged kids because they had just got home from school. I immediately knew it was an earthquake. I have a friend who lives in Turkey and they get the scary ones.

i have been in 2 little ones that were scary enough but my parents were in 2 big ones just a few years apart and they have all kinds of stories about freeways collapsing and happening on-camera while they were filming movies and TV shows, and they also felt the San Francisco one that shut down the old Candlestick Park during the World Series all the way from LA
I'm in California, and I have been in many of them. You never really get used to them, but now I don't even wake up for anything less than 5.0 on the Richter Scale.
I've lived through several in California and two on Guam.
And Turkey is not a young country.

I have never experienced an earthquake. I don’t live in a part of the world that gets them.
Yeah several earthquakes but nothing devastating. I described it as a rolling shaking lasting 15 seconds or so.
There was one here last year. Not much damage, but it was still scary.
