im sorry to hear about you struggling with this. Have you tried therapy? People say working out like an hour every day can help. Dont just distract the problems with other things. Find the route of it. If you avoid the problems distract yourself, you might be happy. But then the depression, its going to come back and hit you even harder than when you were already down. Please talk to someone. Find a psychologist that you like. If that doesn't work, meds do help. Please get help. You are an amazing person. Please dont ever do something to yourself. Thats a loss to the whole society.
I don't like psychologists but it's much better Now, I woke up with It, hopefully I don't go to sleep with it and it comes back, you've been ghost for a while, everything alright? ππ
maybe try a psychiatrist. Meds can really help. But yeah see how you feel tomorrow if it goes away <3. Nope my life is a fucking mess as usual

Regular exercise helps allay depression. Getting enough sunlight resets your sleep clock... only about 15 or so minutes per day. Get enough sleep also. 7-8 hours. Take naps if you can't get it all at once.
Alcohol is a central nervous system DEPRESSANT. Avoid it. It doesn't help. And don't joke about suicide. It's not funny. If you have those feelings, make an appointment to talk to a professional. Get recommendations from your GP. And take care of yourself, first and foremost.
At worst, you'll need to see a psychiatrist for some meds to get you through this. But getting to the base of why you're depressed will help solve your depression. Good luck!
I unpurposely think of suicide everyday, I know I'm not gonna do It, but the thoughts are intrusive, I guess dark humor ain't for everyone, thanks for the info tho
The fact that suicide thoughts are cropping up in your head daily doesn't sound healthy, Mori. "Intrusive" means they are out of control. Get a pro to talk to. to find out what you need to do to end this problem. Don't ignore or laugh off such thoughts or any long-term levels of depression.

I stopped experiencing it so often once I found a purpose in my life, which for me is my career. I quite literally cannot experience depression right now, since it'd get in the way of the work I HAVE to do every day.
Sure, I get sad or lethargic at times, but it's not like depression. Certain things in your life can become so important to you that mental bullshit doesn't get in the way. So that and good habits makes me not deal with that so heavily anymore

Sorry to hear that :( why not Some mean gagers dont get depression? Why a fun guy like u? Anyway depression always have a cause if not from real events then from brain chemical disturbance. So u either take a med for it. Or deal with whats causing it. From ur post ur life seems tough like losing friends in violent ways which can cause depression to Anyone. Try to get exposed to more positive things in life. Not only bad news or so. Hope all is well😔

Kinda dark here but most times I just hide in my room but when it gets really bad I have been known to cut. I dont recommend it though. Some healthier solutions are to do something creative even if it isn't good but doing things like writing, drawing, even building with Lego are positive outlets that can force your mind to focus on something else.
Maybe playing a war game will help me, I'm doing that now, thanks for the help Bri, I hope you manage to fight off yours as well ππ―

First, start therapy.
If the goal is to deal with instantaneous issues there are a lot of emotional regulation techniques out there and little things you can do in your life to minimize this happening to begin with.
Healing depression is more about dealing with the long-term than the short term if that makes sense.
It does make sense but I don't necessarily wanna pay anyone to listen to my bullshit if ima be foreal, it's not my cup of tea
I've been there in terms fo mentality, but it helps more than you might expect.
Realistically, it's hard to get good advice from the people in our lives because they'll never actually be objective about our situations. It's also good to speak to people who have a good understanding of what is vs isn't a healthy mindset or behavior, and that knowledge is really what you're paying for.

I find you can beat depression by being nice to people, like maybe you could donate to a charity or do volunteer work with disabled people for a few hours a week, or volunteer to babysit a niece or nephew a few times a month. Even encouraging others and saying positive affirmations over them can boost your mood. You could also make artistic gift baskets for sick people at your church.

Pray, walk outside get fresh air, talk to a family member, seek therapy, affirmations (I repeat bible verse 7 times), drink plenty of water, eat a healthy meal, work out, do a relaxing activity, make sure your vitamin levels are on par.

Seriously, Bananas can raise your serotonin levels thus making you feel less depressed, and I'm sure there are other foods or fruits can do the same thing for you.

Ask yourself why are you depressed. Is for a reason. Like maybe you aren't financially stable? Maybe you need a wife? Etc. Is it a pure reason or is it happening for no reason?
If you know the reason you can solve it.
It ain't gonna be solved today cause those are two problems I do have and many more but I don't think that's the core of it cause it's random, it comes for 1 day and then the next week I'm good, I don't get it
Yeah well maybe its the anxiety that kicks in. You seam like a great dude. Despite your past ofcouse. If I were you I'd take a coarse for UX/UI design. My friend did that for like 6 month and is making 5000 USD/month from home. It might not work for everyone but they are needed and anyone can study it. Its a high paying job definatly higher than average. And then I would join a Christian dating site.
But despite that if thats not it, then it could be lack of sleep, lack of nutrution, stress? I mean if something bad happen to your recently or someone close to you that can affect it too.

I had a friend that was a wellness coach. She told me that depression can be caused by being out of the loop of control of your life. I was very depressed for a while. I tried to identify what was making me so depressed and I began to engage in activities that would make the situation better. The act of working towards a goal gave me control of my life. It was working pretty good too until Covid came and screwed it all up
