I've had two hospitalizations where I nearly died. Once as a child and once as an adult.

I was put in the ICU 2 years. ago after a surgery. I still don't fully understand why. I was only in there 48hrs. I had covid and was dealing with other underlying medical issues that they put me on oxygen. But I was never intubated. So I'm not sure why they put me there. I don't know if that's normal just for observation after surgery. It's really hard to tell because they weren't playing around. They told me my covid was pretty bad. But I never felt that bad. I was just REALLY tired.😆 I pretty much slept through the entire week.
@sean1234 oxygen! Not a respirator you conspiracy nut. I had covid. Covid is very real. My nose was so raw it kept bleeding and I was definitely congested. I'm just saying I didn't have the achiness and whatnot that usually accompanies being sick. I was just uber tired. I didn't want to explain my medical history. But there was a good reason I was tired. Covid I'm sure did not help. I just remember sleeping the entire week after surgery. I've never slept that much in my life! And I don't know if it was covid that knocked me down that much or whether it was the anesthesia from the surgery. I'd never had surgery before. So i have nothing to compare it to.
Now I will say this. The put on my bill the reason for the stay in the ICU was for covid. I know this because my surgery was for an accident that happened at work. And that's why my workman's comp claim was able to deny my ICU portion of the ICU. Which I think is b. s.! So I while I wouldn't say they're evil, I do think they're opportunistic. I have little doubt they listed my stay in the ICU as covid as a means to inflate their ICU numbers to get more federal kickback.
Ok OK not the respirator, but I've heard this thing soo much with soo many people like yourself, covid is blamed for their cancer sicknesses or other random illnesses. I lived in the city, I remember the lock downs... I remember the BIG HOSPITAL next to me always empty at the time. No one was sick.
Two medically close ones. Quite a number of logistically close ones.
