Do you wash new clothes when you buy them?

Ofcourse, as people keep touching them in the shops over and over, and is known for some bacteria to live long enough to be trasferrable on to another person. And not just people, but.. plastic, the way they are packet, plastics, dust, smell... there are many reasons why clothes should be washed. I think of clothes same as veggies/fruits, always needs washing after buying...🤷‍♂️

Yep... don't know where that stuff has been, and on the off chance it isn't colorfast I don't want to find out the hard way

I do. Not because I’m worried about germs from people who returned the product to the store but because I’m worried about industrial chemical residue being left on the outfit if I don’t wash it first. An example, is somebody told me you could cut 200 calories off your pizza by taking a paper towel and wiping the outer layer of oil off of it before you eat it. So maybe washing the clothes will get rid of the factory chemicals that are left on your outfit.

Yes. I worked at Marshall’s for a month in HS and you wouldn’t believe the roaches inside the cardboard boxes the clothes are shipped in. And no plastic sealant by the way. Just tossed in cardboard which roaches love.

That was 19,20 22 years ago. But I doubt much has changed.

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. There's no pattern.

I often wash and dry shirts. They typically have creases from the way they are packaged, and washing and drying them removes the creases.

No, if I buy them mysekf and my wife does not see it I just take it out of the bag and wear it. If my wife sees it first she wants to wash it.

Sometimes I will wear a NEW Jockey T-shirt without washing it, to make it a little softer.

Generally I wash shirts before I wear them. For some reason, new shirts are itcy unless watched.
