Emergency Medical Technician. I like helping people though. People get injured, they get scared, and they often panic in emergency situations. I would be that one EMT that tells a funny story or cracks a joke to take their mind off of their injury, like telling the person "If you get a hot nurse, don't forget to propose," or if it's a female, "if you get a hot doctor, get his number," or if it's a child, I would say something like "Do you have any pets?" and ask them about their pets, and if not, tell them about the puppies I used to have. A little talking can help a lot.

Doing it over again? Instead of the Navy? I'd go fire. Maybe police but probably fire.

I'd choose EMT/Paramedic. My younger brother is a paramedic, my dad is an ER surgeon - I know the field and the expectations. But I also know that it's not a walk in the park - long gruelling and odd hours, as well as dealing mostly with people who are drunk, on drugs, have been shot/stabbed, or have committed a crime and they're trying to buy time before getting thrown in a cell - telling cops they're having some medical problem or that they were injured because they think that will get them out of handcuffs.

But honestly, I'm happy being a teacher.

I honestly don't know how my parents did it and survived to come out the other side. They married while both were still in med school, had 5 children in about 8 years, and my mom put her studies on hold or part time until all of us were in school. 4 boys, 1 girl. Three of us were born in the US while the last two were born in Canada. Absolute whirlwind of a life, but a rewarding one in my opinion.

They raised fairly successful kids, too, if I say so myself. My older brother is a fighter pilot in the RCAF, regularly flying in the CF/A 18 Hornet, I'm a teacher, my twin brother is a mechanic with his own garage, younger brother is the paramedic, and my youngest brother is still in university at this time but doing okay.

Its almost accurate, if i say i won't rely on the police for protection its because i already tried many times

I just don’t want a neighborhood where the criminals run wild as that would be the absolute worst. When I see these A-hole violent criminal on video and then see how hard they fight the police, I think there is no way the community can keep safe without the weight of the police. A horrible way to live.
