Question

If you had the ability to meet and have dinner with any man from any time in history, who would it be?

Assume that he would time travel to today, meet you at your favorite restaurant, and be able to speak your language.

between adlof hitler and Einstein
seeing how they are lying about everything in ukraine and demonizing russia, I'd like to see what hitler has to say in regards to his reasoning and if everything we've been told so far is fact or just like today mostly propaganda to cover something up.

some speculations are that he was actually trying get rid of gays but instead they lied and said he just wanted to kill people he didn't like if they were not blonde etc.

another interesting fact is where all the dead bodies were they show the same photos but in real life you can't find any cadavers where supposedly all the dead people were thrown, so how many died there by the hand of hitler supposedly is also a mystery that could have just been fabricated to further demonize him

he really might be a demon, who knows but just taking into consideration who Ukraine war is being manipulated by lies, you start to doubt what they have previously demonized before.

so interesting to have a closer insight of how this man really thought and how his ideas and brain worked.

Einstein was another strange man, too smart to be normal so It would be interesting as well to have a conversation with.. though he might think I'm stealing oxygen, just like he said about his wife. lol He thought most people were idiots. which is not so far off from reality.

The roman emperor Magnus Maximus. Historical fact and legend get intertwined a lot around him. On one hand he's credited with creating wales after dreaming of a princess in a tower in "the emperors dream" with generations of Welsh kings all claiming direct descent. But on another he's blamed by other Romans for leaving briton defenseless by recruiting it's young into his personal rampage across Europe.

I'd ask how he felt about the myths that sprung up in later years, how he inspired the king Arthur stories and how his thoughts on how historians view him.

William James Sidis. Probably the smartest man who ever lived in history.

His campaigns against the powerful Persians were incredible, his reputation of being exceptionally charismatic and a good public speaker shows that he would be captivating to converse with. Other than that, the historical person that I want to meet is actually not as grand as a lot of the answers here, but instead it's just my favorite author and filmmaker who passed away in 2012 and I'm sad that I couldn't see him when he was alive. His brother is also a famous writer and I had the luck to meet him three times.

Given that you didn't mention any specific time period and he doesn't necessarily have to be a globally known person I think my answer is pretty fair because he is famous in my country and certainly going to remain significant in the bounty of literature that my native language has to offer.
