If I already have my own assets, is this the main reason for my lack of interest in moving in with a boyfriend?

Let's say there were other women like me:

If neither her nor her family are poor, she has her own assets, clearly isn't in any financial crisis and has already been living on her own for several years (nothing is missing and she's happy) then she wouldn't be motivated anymore to shack up with a boyfriend anymore right?

Usually yes but moving in is more romantic then waiting for the wedding.

Always a dumb idea and often ends badly and is harder to keep committed.

This is where the most abuse on a relationship starts! Cause if she waits her friends often find out and stop it!

I think when people just move in only for the romance and because they're in love but no other valuable reasons why (ex: have they talked about a future goals, are they both good at handling bills, do they actually want kids with that person, how well are they in solving conflicts, what are their habits and flaws, any responsibilities, etc), that's when it'll fail too fast.
So many people get into relationships and move in with their heart and the infatuation stage where everything is perfect more than logic.

It's wise to not just shack up with somebody before you're sure they are marriage material. You should not want to just live with a guy because he's your boyfriend. If you are sure he's marriage material and still have reservations, then you may not be comfortable giving people any kind of power over you, might be a control freak, might fear intimacy, or you are not be ready for commitment. If you don't have a boyfriend then it doesn't really matter.

That's exactly what I believe in. I refuse to share my house with someone I don't see myself marrying in the near future. Just being in love shouldn't ever be a reason to move in with someone if you don't even know their flaws, if you can handle difficult situation, if the pros outweight the cons, how well they manage their bills too, etc.
We generally think more with logic than just emotions and ''oh the infatuation, butterflies in my stomach'' things. Infatuation fades away anyways.

Indeed. My mother actually played in role in making me what I am today. Growing up, she would lecture on never asking people for money, never be a cowardly golddigger taking away a man's hard earned money. Her famous words grilled ever since I was a kid were along these lines ''You want to leave the man, leave him, no one forces you to stay with him but leave his things alone. If I ever hear you taking away his money, I'll make sure you pay it all back. Earn your own money.''

Given that in mind, yes there are a couple rotten men out there that also will take away our money. That's terrible for any person to do. No one deserves to have their money take away. Just like men are protective with their assets, so am I. Yes, a prenup is definitely in need.
