Are houses up for sale a lot expensive than normal?

Please explain why. My house skyrocketed in value in only 3 or 4 years. I'm sure Mr potato head had something to do with it. But my house has jumped to a lower price to a very high price.

Depends where.
In some areas of US yes.
why? Interest rates are higher. no one selling = low inventories contribute to high demand = high price.

do you need to sell at any time? Like next 2-3 years? If not, you are fine.
Start college funds for kids or retirement funds.

There is a huge housing shortage right now so prices and rents are the highest they've ever been, even crappy houses in crappy neighborhoods. There are no investment houses anymore. We need a crash to correct things but it's not going to happen.

Supply verses demand and the interest rates at the time.
With the interest rates increasing. The demand will keep dropping.
My mortgage in the 80’s was 11 percent, but I had more money in my pocket because of the lower inflation rate.
