What does it mean when he randomly starts talking with me?

There is this guy at work who I never talk with, but i’m trying to be more social so I decided to try with him.

We will leave doors open at work because it gets hot during summer and sometimes animals will come in, I caught a frog and showed it to him but he seemed kinda bothered so i felt bad

But the next day he asked me what happened to the frog, does that mean he's interested in talking with me? He could have easily just ignored me. I have tried with him before and this was the first time he asked something back, and most people would forget the next day if they really didn’t care.

You are WAY overthinking this. Nothing happened here. You have no idea why he seemed bothered. Maybe he was having a bad day. Or maybe his mind was on something else. Or maybe he doesn’t like frogs. You simply don’t know.


Then he talks to you. And you’re also reading WAY too much into it. Maybe he’s being friendly. Maybe he felt bad about seeming distracted the prior day. Or maybe something else.


If I were you I’d try to stop reading too much into situations and try to live more in the moment. Just be chill and take things as they come. And don’t make assumptions beyond what you know is absolutely true. And remember, what might seem true to you, might be false to someone else. Everyone views the world and situations differently.

thanks for answer, I overthink a lot but i’m trying to push myself but I end up thinking a lot on what others think of me, if they think i’m annoying or not lol.

That’s ok! It means you care. So don’t think it’s always a bad thing. I overthink things too. But in this situation, just try to be content with the situation and go with what is happening.
