I don't have a car, and i would consider this perfectly acceptable behavior. One of the drawbacks of public transit is since you are in shared space, it would be weird and rude to have your bare feet out touching or up where other people are also inside the vehicle. I would never do that on a bus, even if I way the only passenger at the time. But there have definitely been times that I wanted to, especially the past couple weeks of such hot weather. The only thing stopping me is that it's a publicly shared space. And in my husband's car, it's a privately shared space. He doesn't like feet on anything besides the floorboards, so because his car i share with him, I don't do that there either (& neither does he). If he didn't care, then i would. Because it would only be shared space with people who are OK with it. I don't consider people outside the car as included in the space. Only thing I rlly consider them for is, we don't fuck in the car and if we change our kids clothes in the car one of us sits between them and the window and blocks view from outside. But that's more for privacy, we don't do that out of consideration for others..

Feet are literally just part of the human body. I do find them interesting looking back at the human lineage and how they used to be capable of holding onto items; and even now they’re still capable of that with those who rely on using their feet as a means of grasping.
