a lot of men are in your situation. You're invisible. You have to work on your value. You have none and thus feel lonely because no one sees value in you. Hit the gym. This will give you purpose and you'll feel good working on something. If you feel lonely because women dont like you, believe me man women are headaches and every man gets sick of the drama and it's the last thing you need to be worrying about. You need to try and get out of this loop

I don’t think there’s a particular reason some of us find it harder to make friends maybe bc we aren’t social at work or we don’t drink or because of where we’re located or just because of anxiety etc.

Best way is to go out and do something for someone else today. When people are lonely they think inwardly. The human species thinks inwardly as a default setting. I can't guarantee helping someone will make you a friend but it will at least open the door. Just remember giving in friendship is reciprocal. If it's not it's not a healthy relationship.
