Do you consider period and menstruation to be synonym words? Do you agree there has to be bleeding for it to be considered a period?

People are saying things like period and menstruation aren’t the same thing. Trans women can have periods because they have hormone therapy and take estrogen pills and can have periods symptoms like bloating and mood swings but they won’t have menstruation which is the bleeding part.

I disagree. I have always thought menstruation and period mean the same thing

in my opinion, they're the same thing. Menstruation is just the scientific term and period is more like street lingo or colloquial terms.

Don't know enough to say that bleeding is a necessity. Frankly, all the other symptoms that show even if my own cycle is light on blood still make my periods misery.

If a transwoman says she experiences periods, I'm not about to tell her what her own body feels. Bloating and all sucks, blood or not. I feel ya, sister.

Attempts to differentiate the two are absurd. Period used to be polite or non-clinical synonym for menstruation - the shedding of the uterine lining and bleeding through the vagina. But trans activists continue to appropriate womanhood in an effort to pretend that men can become women. Those activists deserve nothing but mockery.

I wouldn't call them synonyms but one is the consequence of the other. A period is only a period if it's a consequence of menstruation as for instance having mood swings is nothing exclusively female.

I don’t think there’s menstruation if there’s no blood.
