How do you live with a roommate who will get angry over small things and eagerly goes to roommates’ rooms to angrily question and confront them?

I was trying to sleep and my new female roommate started banging on my door loudly. Goodness gracious. Wtf. You would think the house was burning down. My other male roommate handled it well he was his usual relaxed self and didn’t placate her. I just got really nervous and scared and started acting a bit placating.

What are those "little things"? Do they greatly impact your living situation? Like leaving the cooking utensils dirty and others can't use them? If that happens on a daily basis, I'd also consider strangling my roommates. But explosive anger is never a good sign. You need to figure out how to communicate with each other on eye-level like adults. No one feels comfortable in a hostile environment - and obviously, your roommate also doesn't feel comfortable about specific things, if she got this angry over insignificant stuff as you claimed.

One of my friends lives in a flatshare and they "made" one of their roommates move out. Sat down with her and pointed out that she's simply not compatible with their lifestyle and personality-wise. It was strange, tense and awkward, but had to be done. Maybe sit down with her and your other roommate and try to figure out what's going wrong. If nothing helps, maybe get a new roommate if possible since you have been there longer.

Just by saying that he gets mad about small things means that you are only seeing the problem by your eyes only.. the issue might seems like a small thing for you but definitely not for your roommate. I dont believe that anyone will get mad about a small thing.. if he gets mad its because it means something for him.. we all have our little broken past.. they all about different stuff and everyone had different reactions. If it is small for you why not trying to fix the situation
