I have a rca hdtv 32 inch lcd tv should I buy a newer tv or stick with this one a while longer?

the size doesn't matter but how you use it (no pun intended). the resolution is the same in every size. so you can easily control the picture you're experiencing by adjusting your viewing distance.

like the ammount of your field of view the monitor occupies is determined by the screen size and viewing distance. a small screen closer up will give you the exact same picture as a larger screen further away from you.

as i just said. it doesn't matter. it depends how close up you put it to your face. like a 12 inch tablet right up close to your face is larger than your 32 inches tv 80 feet away.

i don't watch tv, so i don't really know what it means? does it mean 1920x1080 or 3840x2160?

Mine can do 720p and 1080p

xD well it's ok. nothing special. and as long as you don't get used to 4k/uhd, it is definitely servicable.
