I've had my dog since he was a year and a half. I trained him just like I trained all my dogs. He will not move unless I tell him. I've left the gate to my backyard open several times while he was back there. He would just sit there looking out. I've owned German shepherds, collies, a havawart, and now a black lab/ pit mix.

He’s a mutt, and a homebody. Best example I can think of is he got sprayed by a skunk years ago. My roommates put him on the chain outside but put it on the wrong part of the collar so by the time I got home he’d slipped his collar. We live in a city, with some wild animals frequenting neighbourhoods I got home from work and he was sitting by the back door. So had ample opportunity to roam and run off chose to stay home

We're blessed to have had and continue to have dogs that are so loyal that they always return back to where they're expected to return.

We actually allow them to stray but they're so concerned for us and their other furry siblings that they don't let us out of their sights.

It's our bossy cats that give us (dogs included) anxiety.
