I was walking down the street and a woman started recording me with a small. camera all. of a sudden. It felt bad. What would you do?
There have been a lot of times I suspected a guy was doing this. In most cases I just moved away from them and didn't make a big deal out of it. I could have been wrong, I was not sure. Two times when I did feel sure, I went to them and demanded to see their phone. One time yep he had a video of me which I deleted. The other time, he didn't give me his phone instantly he was fumbling with it and then gave it to me and I didn't see anything but I do not know if he deleted it first or if I was wrong. So anyway I guess my answer is, I would either move away from them, or depending how obvious I thought it was or my mood I might confront them.
A situation I was not aware of when it was happening is that I went to a party at a fraternity house in college, and I was told later that they had cameras in the bathroom and had video of girls using the bathroom which would have included me. But I never saw the video and when I asked around about it, they said it was just a rumor and didn't really happen.And, I have mentioned before, one of my exes took video of me during sex, and I did consent or at least did not protest, but I expected it to remain private and he showed it to his friends without my permission which caused me to break up with him, which was a long time coming, I should have done it sooner, he was pretty horrible to me.
I don't like suspecting people of being pervs but I only have to suspect that bc some people actually are pervs, I don't get it, there is plenty of porn you can look at wo this stuff. JMO!00 Reply

+1 yThat happened to me at a bar about 6 years ago. I kept telling him to "stop", he said, "I have a right to film in public". He was a real dick about it! So, I went to the bathroom and when I came back, there he was with his camera filming me. As I walked toward him, I "tripped" on a peanut shell and out of reflex I grabbed him to keep me from falling. Unfortunately, I'm a fairly big guy, so he ended up falling over a few bar stools. He called the cops on me but it was an accident. The best part was his camera broke! Lol

Inside a bar isn’t public space, though. That guy would have been breaking the law in many states in the US.
- +1 y

@love_conquers_lust What law? There's no law outlawing recording in private spaces, that would just be up to the property owner, i. e. the bar owner.
- +1 y
@DevikaButts95 I’m not a lawyer. I think this falls under tort law. I know Missouri is a one party consent state. I know that only covers reasonable circumstances because of rights to privacy.
![How would you react if someone starts recording you without your authorization?]()
Some states are two party consent states. I am unsure how it differs between public and private property, despite my original replies. I assumed property owner and patrons have to follow consent laws. I read things like interviews require consent from everyone in a private setting. - +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
Not a lawyer either, don't think that's quite right. Most of what you speak of refers to eavesdropping, which is a situation where that might differ, but generally speaking, if you are in plain view and have no expectation of privacy, you can be recorded. Which makes sense given stuff like security cameras which are recording you at all times as well. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 I generally don’t do it without consent or a crime is in progress or something. It’s rude otherwise, like what @wallythewalrus encountered.
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
Well depends on the situation on whether it's rude or not (I'd add recording a Karen freaking out as a non rude situation) but my point is it's more or less not illegal. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 I don’t like the pejorative term “Karen”. I like a lot of the Karens. A number of them have legitimate grievances because there is a lot of anit-White rhetoric and people of dark skinned complexion like to antagonize them thinking it’s funny, when really they’re just being assholes. I also think a lot of them use it to lower their self-esteem which pisses me off. Similar to what @wallythewalrus encountered. Ranting.
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
No, they're just people who throw public tantrums at retail workers for stuff they're in the wrong about. Anyone properly being called a Karen does not have a legitimate grievance.
It's a term you completely understand if you worked retail once. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 I know what the context is. But more often than not, it’s targeted at white women here in the States for those aforementioned reasons. And it pisses me off.
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
Nope. That would be incorrect. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 You see the irony here?
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
Irony would be if I were a Karen, not you evidently being one I guess and coming up with a poorly rationalized excuse for it. Lmao.
I'll be honest not really where I expected the convo to turn, kinda sad. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 At the risk of sounding like a “Ken” or what the fuck ever term is drummed up, perhaps you should analyze more carefully. Perhaps the community at large should pick a less white sounding name or shut their racist mouths up altogether.
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
Lmao. It's not impossible to be racist against white people but the "Karen" thing simply ain't it. Karen has no racial background, all races do it.
Just sounds like your a racist too with no understanding about racism. It's never been a race thing. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 You shouldn’t even be arguing with me if you believe I have no understanding of racism. So we’ll throw that one out. You think it would be any less about race FOR OTHERS if it was coined being a “Shaniqua” or a “Prisha”. I get your persoective, but that was a poor, poooooooor choice of word to refer that to.
I don’t really consider racist all that insulting anymore. Most likely everyone is. And if we’re going to tumble down that rabbit hole… - +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
I mean believe? You showed to have no understanding of it, not really my fault you did that. Plus you probably shouldn't argue with the generation who came up with the term what the term actually means.
Karen isn't even just a white name either. And it's not Shaniqua or Prisha, so really it's just a moot point to bring up. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 Oh, you want to make this a generational thing. It’s not like my generation was the first exposed to the internet. We grew up on it before it was watered down catering to the lowest common denominator. Quality over quantity reigned supreme in the 90s. And you don’t know what moot means, nor do you get my point.
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
Your point is wrong. Karen is not a white only name, it has nothing to do with race, it has always been an excuse for shitty people to try and justify their shitty behavior. I understand your point completely, you're just straight up wrong and stupid.
Moot's definition: "deprived of practical significance"
I grew up in the 90s, and fun fact, everything you said in regards to the generation thing is a moot point. - +1 y
*To clarify, the race thing has always been an excuse for shitty people to try and justify their shitty behavior.
- +1 y
@DevikaButts95 “generation thing is a moot point.”. If you believe it to be so, then why bring it up. Now you called me stupid. Do I really sound stupid to you? Or is it that you want me to be?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karen_(slang)
“Karen is a pejorative term used as slang for a middle-class WHITE woman”.
You’re an asshole. - +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
What you said is moot and has no bearing on anything.
A wikipedia article has no bearing on anything. It is about a middle-class woman, typically white sure because ya know, typically middle class woman in the U. S. are white. The population is 70% white people. But its usage is far more than just white and regardless of what you feel that is fact that cannot be disputed.
Yea and the "you're an asshole" bit really sells you as a Karen. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 And now you’re gaslighting me. I don’t know why any white man or woman would want anything to do with you. You’re no different than PUAs. Fucking assholes will lower the self esteem of white people until you get what you want because you fetishize us. This is why I don’t want to be anywhere near people like you in my free time.
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
Hey look, the racism comes afoot. Lmao.
No gaslighting, typical is an important part of that definition of Karen that your wikipedia article is missing. But I guess you had no refute for that, which is why you jumped to desperately grasping to use gaslighting.
Ain't never been a term about putting white people down, just entitled people down, I've said as much already and quite clearly at that. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 I don’t really care. It’s just as racist for you to prefer any race other than your own, doesn’t matter how many races you’ve been with. Not even worth arguing about because no one will ever really know anyway.
The law only requires that I work along side people of other races. I don’t have to do shit with them when it comes to consuming in my free time. What you call racism others call preference. So kindly fuck off. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 It’s not my article. I didn’t contribute anything to it. Nor are the videos sprawling all over the internet, asshole.
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
You provided the link to the article. Its "your" article in that sense. Just like if you're holding a book you checked out from the library written by someone else and I call it your book. Sheesh, its one thing to teach you slang but basic English? Makes sense why you have difficulty grasping what a Karen is. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 You’re an ass. I’d be more amenable to you if you said yup, you’re right. Like after the 60s, the US had a monopoly on world propaganda and flooded foreign markets with White media whitewashing their cultures. I could see how other countries would construe that as anti-whatever racism, and they’d be right. Which I also had nothing to do with. But instead, you say no no no. Fuck that.
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
Its cause you're not right.
And you're also just a racist fully admitteding you're perfectly fine being racist whining about how you experience racism and that's bad. Why would anyone care if you also do the bad thing? Like its not rocket science dude. If you punch people, don't whine if someone punches you.
And while you're at it, maybe complain about something thats actually racist to white people? Lmao. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 I…don’t…care. Go guilt trip someone else. Your denying it is pissing me off. That’s part of gaslighting you asshole.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FFytCr0VKnU
Affirmative Action is racist to white people asshole. White women get a precedent because they are female. There is no Affirmative Action for white males. It explicitly is NOT in the code to be audited for. White male is not under the list of protected demographics.
Again, you’re a fucking asshole. Are you even real. Is that even your picture? - +1 y
@love_conquers_lust @love_conquers_lust
Its not gaslighting to point out to a flat earther that the earth isn't flat. Likewise its not gaslighting to point out a non-racist thing is not racist. You can claw for an argument all you want, but there is no escaping logic.
And there ain't no guilt tripping. A racist is stupid and makes the choice to be a racist. I'm not guilting you, there's no point, you lack morality. All I did was point out you're whining about experiencing racism while you are a racist yourself. Logically doesn't make sense to care about your woes given you inflict the same woes on others. Everything here is common logic. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 You’re a Karen for bitching about the conventional definition of Karen. Think your way out of that one.
- +1 y
@DevikaButts95 “ If you punch people, don't whine if someone punches you.”. Sounds like a good reason for us to stay the fuck away from one another.
“ The population is 70% white people.” Hispanics aren’t white. Hispanics are hispanic. The US white population is 60%. - +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
Yea I'm not throwing a tantrum here. It's just you, you're literally the old dude in the store throwing a tantrum calling everyone an asshole and spitting out racism.
Yea, I mean I don't really want to be near someone who punches people, ya know what I mean? Lmao.
This is another moot point. First off, last I checked (which has been a bit to be fair), it's roughly around 70% white people, 77% if you include white latinos. But doublechecking you quickly, seems you are right and it's now 60% white population and 75% white with latinos. Whack, but my numbers were offhand and definitely older, I wanna say 2018-ish.
Second, doesn't even matter because the point is that here in the U. S, the population is majority white, which is completely unchanged by this new number. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 Do you have a favorite color?
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
Yes, I have a favorite color. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 What is it?
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
Why do you want to know and what does it matter? - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 Now who’s throwing a tantrum. Mines green, with blue and white as followups depending on my mood. What the fuck is your favorite color?
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
Still just you. Lmao. I don't have to tell you things about my life and have no interest in connecting with you. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 I don’t really care and it’s irrelevant which it is anyway. You prefer that color. Does that make it “superior” to other colors? Are you a colorist?
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
Damn dude, reevaluate what you're trying to argue here, makes no logical sense. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 I’ll hold your hand through this. They’re pretty simple questions to answer. Even I, the stupid, racist, English illiterate, tantrum throwing old dude can answer them. I have favorite colors, but I’m not about to go around blotting out every other color. I don’t have a problem with them. I can’t have a favorite without non-favorites. When I say I don’t want to associate with other races outside of work because of preference, it’s the same fucking thing. Call that racist or not. Call me a fucking Nazi or a White Nationalist or White Supremacist, I don’t give a shit. I don’t want anybody to die. I want to associate with who I want to associate.
When I see negative shit clearly directed at white people, I call it what is. Colloquial Karens is a piss poor choice of word. Entitled or whatever bull shit name would have been fine. But nope, mainstream at large had to criticize white women. A demographic I happen to favor. So, fuck off. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 Furthermore, if I live in a homogenized community, I don’t have to deal with these racist labels, do I. So these fuckheads with their cameras calling white women Karens and fuckers in the media calling white males white Supremacists, Nationalists, and Nazis cease to exist. Now, I’m just dealing with mostly assholes, race need not apply.
So, keep calling me racist. I’ll just roll with it, accept it, and say get the fuck away from us. - +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
Yes you are a racist, and yes, you would still deal with white women being called Karen, because it's not a race thing. Even pretending it is solely a race thing and only applies to white women, it's still just a term to highlight shitty, entitled white women, and would never under any logical circumstance to be read to suggest white women are shitty and entitled for being white. Actual insanity. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 Welp, you make me feel like shit. You win, I suppose. Which I’m sure you’ll throw that back at me as being my own fault. My response isn’t proactive, it’s reactive. I’m not the one inventing or using these stupid fucking terms and trying to compartmentalize the racist component of it.
With every fucking “SSN” call from India funneling calls through US call centers trying to scam older white women out of money, every IT support call I get somewhere overseas with some agent apologizing every 10 fucking seconds because my racist English illiterate ass can’t decipher through their thick fucking accent or I know more about their product than they do, with every interracial fight or act of violence I see, every fucking class I took with tuition pissed down the drain because most of the people in the class couldn’t understand what the fuck the instructor was saying, every minority coworker I’ve talked with who talks about women like they’re pieces meat, I got to tell you, where oh where is this racist shit coming from? I hear America is the least racist country on earth. So which is more likely, is the racism that is here inherent, or is it being brought? - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 But, to be fair, these problems would likely be replaced by other problems regardless of population composition. And some of these observations are independent of race. But, that’s the bitch of stereotypes. It can emerge from a minority or a majority within a demographic.
- +1 y
@DevikaButts95 Maybe I should wear blinders all the time. Although from what I’ve read, even the blind who have never gazed upon the sun can detect race.
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
Well yea it is your own fault. You feel like shit because you are racist, and have lots of negative thoughts in regards to race, and you've done nothing but thrown a tantrum the entire time. You're gunna feel like shit because you've been nonstop shitty for an entire day.
Racism comes from quite a few places. Here it's pretty clearly a narcissistic like individual who develops these feelings to elevate his own ego and fuel a superiority complex despite just being a shitty person, and pretty stupid at that, and the Karen complaint feels like a pick-me I need attention type of deal. It's a choice to be racist, you could stop, but you don't. You've met a few individuals of a race and just decided that all people of that race must be like that, despite having met many white individuals and almost certainly recognizing that they're unique. Just plain stupid. I don't think all white people are racist simply because you are, that would just be insane, and I don't think all middle class white women are Karens because they're not, but I know you are from your interactions with me, or at least you've been one. You are an individual, not your entire race.
You as an individual make the choice to be shitty to others. And that's the deal behind the Karen term, it's a callout for the shitty behavior. It's not about the race, it is literally about the attitude. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 Yup, it must be me. Everybody loves good judgment and pattern recognition until it’s applied to them in a negative light. Don’t judge by the individuals in my group, judge me as an individual.
You don’t know a thing about me. I’d actually like you to explicitly point out where I was racist. You being pissed at me is not grounds for justification. My suggestion for self segregation is also not grounds either. That’s something a predator would say to their prey “It’s your problem for having a problem with me.”
Maybe start with what your definition of racism is. It’s ambiguous. Here’s one that’s interesting- “the belief that different races possess distinct characteristics, abilities, or qualities, especially so as to distinguish them as inferior or superior to one another.”. I guess all biologists are racist. I guess the medical community is totally racist for prescribing different treatments based on race. I suppose racial differences aren’t allowed to be recognized because it might lead to those oh so scawey stereotypes. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 “Oh we can’t say all white people are in fact white, that’s raaaaaaaacist.”
- +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
The first moment was here, not rereading our convo to pull out every single bit: "Fucking assholes will lower the self esteem of white people until you get what you want because you fetishize us. This is why I don’t want to be anywhere near people like you in my free time."
And also take like the entirety of the prior reply tbh, that was some vile shit. Playing the victim card with the Karens thing I think also is a pretty fair argument that you're racist.
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/racism
^^^Factual source for definitions. Pretty reliable. Your definition isn't quite correct but its kinda there. Biologists and medical community aren't doing anything out of the interest of inferiority or superiority, that's the big keyword in the definition you provided. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 I’m good at math. That doesn’t invalidate the stereotype that some Asians are good at math.
I appreciate that you try to think of the term in a race neutral way, kind even. But it doesn’t make me wrong when I show you how it’s defined and how plenty of evidence can be found online with a keyword search.
I’m sorry if I made you feel like shit when I called you an asshole. I assume that was the “vile” part. I don’t like making women feel like shit, especially white women nowadays. And that’s what I see in a lot of these videos and it pisses me off, context is likely edited out.
That’s part of the reason why I PREFER interacting with white women. I don’t have to deal with this racist crap. I can focus on the sexist crap with the obvious superiority of males over females instead.<-That was an asshole statement - +1 y
@love_conquers_lust
I never cared at any point when you called me an asshole. Not a single insult you lobbed my way ever bothered me. I literally specifically pointed out the replies that were vile, so I'm not sure how you even drew an incorrect assumption.
Similarly how you missed important parts of the definition you provided to me, which you shouldn't even use. I recommend relying on Merriam-Webster or at least a solid dictionary source when learning definitions; lots of places kinda give a good summary but not one that works exactly, a la the one you pulled sorta kinda but not really suggesting that simply medicating based on your biology could somehow be racist, when that's not really the point behind the word at all, it refers to prejudice and superiority.
Under Webster's definition, it's pretty clearly spelt out that the biology thing is not correct. - +1 y
@DevikaButts95 “ I literally specifically pointed out the REPLIES (plural) that were vile”. This is you “specifically” pointing out a REPLY (singular) which you were “not rereading our convo to pull out every single bit”: “And also take like the entirety of the prior reply tbh, that was some vile shit.”. Which you’re immediate previous reply to the statement “ "Fucking assholes will lower the self esteem of white people until you get what you want because you fetishize us. This is why I don’t want to be anywhere near people like you in my free time." was “ Yea and the "you're an asshole" bit really sells you as a Karen.”
You didn’t “specifically” point out anything.
I recommend you stop recommending anything to anyone on semantics or language. www.google.com/search

“Karen has no racial background, all races do it.”. Then why do you have to specifically target white women with your definition?
You used the racist term “Karen” in context and tried to prevaricate, not me. You tried to be your own source changing the definition, You’re the racist, not me.
You brought up generation. You realize we’re in the same generation, do you not?
You’re infuriating to converse with. Coopting definitions to suit your narrative doesn’t make you right. You…people…insist on anti-white criticism on an individual basis.
