Do you think we'll ever resurrect species we've driven to extinction (and if so, how do you think we should go about doing it)?

DNA doesn’t last long enough to bring back truly gone animals like dinosaurs or ammonites. But for the late ice age era with woolly mammoths if they could find a complete genome they could possibly survive in some areas of the world. Thylacines they’re declared extinct but there are also many sightings so it’s possible there’s a very tiny population just holding one. The same could be said for woolly mammoths in Siberia but it could just be tall tales. Basically if there is a habitat that they could thrive in I don’t see why we couldn’t bring them back

Why not? Mammoth, Tasmanian Wolf, Dodo or Elephant Bird could still find suitable habitats. T-rex or Megalodon could be too dangerous fro current environment. However I don't think 100% true DNA reconstruction of animal which extincted millions of years ago will be ever possible, those animal ware just designer creatures with authentic DNA snippets. Ethical discussion would be necessary before bringing back such animals, but I think commercial interests would overwhelm any debate about moral anyways if DNA reconstruction was possible

We can but should do the opposite we need to extinct- ify most species due to INSECT overpopulation and more species overpopulation.

Think of a million little ants and flies exhaling co2 that is millions more molecules of greenhouse gas we could n should prevent!
