Why calling men a dog is insult but calling women a cat isn't?

My take?
Dogs are seen as loyal and inferior. Would do anything for you. Something people (might) take for granted.(he licked my boots like a dog).
Dogs are seen as wild. And canine.(he’s acting like a dog).






Cats on the other hand are seen as cute.(doesn’t she looks like a cat?)
Cats have some sort of elegance to themselves, or some sort of pounciness.(doesn’t she remind you of a cat?).


Then again, two sides to every story. Not every dog is bad and not every cat is perfect.


It all boils down to which context it’s used in, and how to reciever, receives it.

just idea of what calling a man a dog is. the idea is that dogs will have sex with any other dog they can find. so calling a man a dog is to say that he is only driven by his libido.

where as being called a cat doesn't necessarily have anything to do with sex.

Because dogs can be more dirty then cats. Also they are more “trainable” while cats have an attitude. And some women are very “proud” of having attitudes.
