like,, some women value romantic relationships and pets, some only their romantic partners and there are some who love their pet cats to death — why do people use it as a form of insult, like we need to be disgusted of them? lolololololol.
3.6K opinions shared on Relationships topic. It's because the vast majority of those women ARE incredibly lonely, and there are thousands of videos on YouTube and TikTok from them complaining about it.
Even the author of Sex And The City, who is wealthy and lives a high lifestyle, deeply regrets choosing her career over a family and said she would trade it all for children. This is a woman with wealthy friends who can travel and basically do whatever she wants, and yet she's not fulfilled.
That's not to say that there are zero women who are happy with their choices, but studies have shown that the most unhappy people on earth are single western women in their 40s and 50s, and they are also the most depressed and most medicated.
Cat ladies are almost always living in delusion, and are more than a little crazy, anthropomorphizing their cats and often oblivious to their own living conditions (such as a house full of cat piss and crap).
Don't get me wrong, there are men who are lonely too, but men usually don't have the ability to live in delusion (though that's increasing too, which is a disaster). Men have to live in reality because no one is coming to save us. The world coddles women and bails them out from their bad decisions.43 Reply- +1 y

@MrOracle You nailed it. When I meet women one of the first question I ask is how many pets do you have? If she says more then two I cut and run. I mean dogs, cats, rabbits doesn't really matter... but cats are a clear red flag. More than one cat and I am skeptical as all hell about her.
My current girlfriend told me she had one dog. So I was like cool and we started dating. Then I found out that she actually had 4 dogs, 5 cats and 2 rabbits and a snake. But she has two daughters 16 and 17 and roommate. So she said she technically only has the one dog, because all the other pets belong to her daughters. :-/
Well sure enough she thinks of her pets as being people or her babies. I asked her when her daughters go to college are they taking the other 3 dogs, 5 cats, 2 rabbits and the snake with them when they leave. We aren't' talking about little dogs either... we are talking about purebred full grown Huskies with all that hair. She said she would never get rid of any of her pets, they have been there for her no matter what when nobody else was. Well Duh? You keep the rabbits in cages, the cats aren't allowed outside and the dogs are fenced in at all times or lock up in the garage. They can't leave even if they wanted to.
So in the end since I own my condo outright and there is no way four dogs, five cats and 2 rabbits are ever going to be in my house and the fact that I will never leave my condo or move into her house... the relationship failed. And when it was all over she tells me, that it always comes down to the pets and that is why all her relationships fail. Duh? You love your pets more then people silly. No man is going to play second fiddle to a cat or dog.

I think it's because the term has a stereotype of someone who doesn't have any friends except for their ten cats. I think that people usually say "Cat Lady" and "Crazy Cat Lady" interchangeably, making it seem like you're weird.
Instead of seeing it like this:

They see it like this:
Or maybe this:

When in reality, being a cat person just means that you like cats, and you probably have some. Personally, I'm a cat person and have three cats (one 16 year old girl, and two 4 year old brothers) and I love them to death. However, that doesn't make me a crazy person who can't function with other people instead of cats.

+1 yJust another sexist tactic in attempting to insult women and force us back into servitude and being a goodie goodie. Don’t fall for it
412 Reply- +1 y
@JDavid25 Both except the sexism against women is dated centuries back but of course you’ll only be concerned with your issue which has absolutely nothing to do with the question
- +1 y
@JDavid25 What centuries long sexism that MEN did not create themselves? Please tell me because women were literally property for centuries because of men
- +1 y
Plenty of women in power upheld any "sexism" towards men.. I didn't see those early feminism fighting to stop Military conscription, or trying to make it so that men didn't have to bare all the responsibility of dying for their wives and children.. Or making bucket duty mandatory for women as well.. Or having wives get whipped for hitting their husbands also.. And no women were never property, women were just more restricted and ultra protected because the world was a very ugly and unforgiving place.. I guess the common man having an average age of 25 for a lot of history wasn't enough..
- +1 y
@JDavid25 Seriously? y'all would say anything to justify sexism.
First of all, feminism is and was about women’s rights because women were forced to be baby making machines who couldn’t work, vote, or own property. Secondly, what does a woman hitting a man have to do with womens rights? Third, men created the ugliness of the world so again, let’s not justify what man made the world for women. Women didn’t ask for rape, murder, war, injustices, etc to exists or be normalized - +1 y
It's not justifying sexism... I don't condone any sexist acts against men or women.. I'm just telling you the reality of the world..
And no feminism was about gaining power.. Always was and still is.. Women could work, but most work was manual labor.. Any the elites could sit at home and try and become authors, or go to college and become a professor or a doctor.. Women could always vote, just not always at federal elections.. They could vote locally.. Most people couldn't vote in federal elections.. That was reserved for upperclass people who owned land.. They could own property if they inherited their father or husband's property and decided not to marry or remarry.. Owning property wasn't exactly a prosperous or safe thing either.. You had to take care of it and defend it.. Especially if you lived in the middle of nowhere.. A woman didn't get put on a whipping post if she hit her husband.. In fact people would make fun of the husband for being weak.. And I mean if you go by that logic then men also created the beauty and goodness.. 😏.. But no men facilitate a lot of the ugliness in the world.. But did you know that European Queens were more warmongering than Kings.. 27% more likely to be exact.. Women got a lot of people killed, raped, and slaughtered.. - +1 y
The reality of the world was that fathers could sell off their teen
and or young adult daughters to old pedophile, she couldn’t own anything not even her virginity, work, vote, where the hell did you get in your mind believing she’s a free woman? And not property? Fathers owned their daughters then husbands owned their wives. These may apply to the upper class but those women were born into gender roles which were adopted from sexist men who made them up. In poorer areas it was even worse: women violence, murders, and rapes still existed. - +1 y
Sexist men didn't make up gender roles... Gender roles are a mix of nature and culture... Hence why you have pretty young women wanting a sugar daddy or women trying to marry a rich guy even today.. Whereas you would be hard pressed to find even a good looking guy get a sugar mama.. What you are talking about is a bride price.. That was made to secure women.. Sure it wasn't always used in the right way as all things in this world aren't.. But the intention was to make sure women had a secure future with her kids.. Which is why you had plenty of women get pregnant and forced the father to marry her for the children..
Men get the brunt end of violence and murder.. Most murders were and are committed against men.. So I don't know why y'all act like men were and are just strolling through life on easy mode.. When really pretty young women have it some of the easiest.. - +1 y
Gender roles are sexist. They literally only benefited men for centuries. That is not nature
Yes most murder may be committed against men but by who? Men not women. Men are doing it to themselves
Objectively Pretty young women do not have it easy. Things may be a little easier but being used for sex, lied, and manipulated to, etc is not easy. All men do is fight over you just to abuse and use you. Even crazier, men treat objectively unattractive women as dirt. Ignoring their existence, using them for sex as well to fill the time as a placeholder but abusing them just as they abuse pretty women. It may be called pretty women privilege but there’s nothing benefiting about it maybe getting free drinks or attention but it’s always the wrong kind of attention. We want love and respect not what’s been handed. Life is not easier at all and there’s nothing benefiting about it that has a positive affect on society - +1 y
Geez, you like many other feminism have a twisted victim fantasy.. "The Patriarchy" definitely benefitted women.. Gender roles are gender roles they are neutral and was made for survival.. Like I said the world was not as safe as it is now in the West.. People did what they did to survive.. You can see the past through your privileged lens living a fairly comfortable life and think men were just living it up all you want, but that's not the reality.. Pretty women get treated better than anybody.. You know Simps exist right? Plenty of men are ready to treat women like queens.. Plenty of men killed for women whether it be their wives, daughters, or sisters.. So no, women were not just used and abused.. No matter what fantasy you like to believe.. The world is much more nuanced than that.. And I didn't say women were the ones murdering men.. That wasn't my point.. The point is that the common man didn't get any of the benefits y'all like to whine about.. Most couldn't vote, get an education, and most did mainly farm work.. Men and women suffered throughout history.. And I wish y'all would stop cherry picking certain laws and events and see the whole picture for what it was..

a lonely unmarried man is called a bachelor while a lonely unmarried woman is called a cat lady.
a man who sleeps around is called "experienced" while a woman who sleeps around is called a whore or prostitute.
A fat man is not bullied. But everyone loves to fat shame a woman on social media.
A man who craves riches is called "ambitious" while a woman who craves riches is called "a gold digger" or "materialistic".
A man who chasing women 10 to 15 years younger is acceptable. But a woman craving a rich man is unacceptable.
A rich man is called "successful" while a rich woman is seen as lacking, unhappy, lonely, unfulfilled.

A lonely unmarried man, especially if he is not rich or attractive is called an incel..
A man who sleeps around is called a player, f**kboy, or a dog..
Are you forreal? Have you not seen even the movies where fat boys are bullied? Fat kids male or female are bullied..
You are going on about two different scenarios.. You are conflating craving success with craving riches.. A woman who craves success is also called ambitious..
And nah people always make fun of Leonardo DiCaprio for dating 25 year old women.. But also women have been dating rich guys since the beginning of time.. I'm pretty sure it's "acceptable"..
And both are seen as successful, but men are held to a higher standard when it comes to that.. As a man is valued by his success.. - +1 y
Funny but mostly true. Anecdotally, I have dated women 30 years older than I am (and had really great sex) but it has caused some people to ask personal questions that were none of their business.
+1 yThe same way misandrist insult single men who were suffered a devastating heart and the misandrist just dismiss his pain with "who hurt you" or "Just get over it" or "some woman just hurt" in 3 simple words. despite the fact that most women are very careful about being hurt and worry a lot about getting used by men. It's just the way people are. It's the same thing women don't get free pass for being women. People are going to say things like that to women and men.
24 Reply- +1 y
"who hurt you" is only used when bitter men overgeneralised women and call all of them bl0ody b*tches
- +1 y
I never understood the "Who hurt you tactic." Obviously a woman hurt him and that's more of a slight against women then a reason for a man to be ashamed.
- +1 y
@CarrieWilson4567 I get your point but men don't have to criticize all women because they've been dating the worst kind
- +1 y
I mean it's just that society says women have more emotional intelligence than men. Woman are more caring and understanding than men, but when a man expresses feelings of pain because he lost his kids in divorce or is upset at how he was treated by a woman he is told "you just didn't pick the right one" (like he was suppose to know) or "who hurt you" which shows just a lack of empathy.
What does that say about the person saying "who hurt you" ? It's saying "I can get over a break up real easily, so why are you hurt?" it shows that she doesn't invest much into her relationships and shows that she can move on real easily and never really cared about the guy she was with.
She's suppose to be more caring and understanding. She feels scared and hurt when a guy treats her wrong and she becomes wary of men. Yet, if a guy feels the same about women she thinks he's scared and doesn't understand why he won't have feelings of hurt. 3 words "who hurt you" that's all she has to say about someone else's pain.
Women are allowed to express their emotions more than men are. It shows that people become disgusted at a man who is vulnerable or emotional.
+1 yIt isn't just cats. When I look at personal ads on any platform (match, pof, okcupid), you will always see women who post multiple pictures of themselves posing with multiple pet dogs or pet cats. Now, there is nothing wrong with having a cat or a dog or both. Go ahead and include one picture of your pets. However, when a woman has every picture of herself surrounded by her pets, my first thought is "mentally ill" and my second thought is "unable to maintain relationships with men."
30 ReplyBecause there is such thing as having too many pets and not enough contact with people and in some cases the outside world. But can be applied to men as well. The idea of Crazy Cat Lady or Crazy Dog Guy does come from people with legitimate mental health issues. With hoarding being a big one. The simple truth is people with hoarding will hoard anything and in come cases that does include animals. So you end up with a person that can have a 100 or more animals and their place has become one massive uncleaned litter box.

+1 yStereotypes come around for a reason. Angry black man for anyone? Exceptions to the rule exist but they don't make the rule. With all that said let me get into what happens to these women.
They spent all their useful childbearing years not having one... most likely being a feminist ( you know like the blue-haired people that hate men and not the ones that just want the right to vote and equality [compare 1st wave to 4th wave feminism]) ... so they buy animals with small paws, big eyes, big heads and it's all to resemble the same characteristics as a human baby. It's not just cats, also small dogs get put into the mix and especially those with the same features of the big bulging eyes and small paws. ... you starting to see how sick this behavior is or what? ... I can keep talking, just give me the green light to do so.

+1 yIt's suppose to be a nod towards single women who live alone, never married, and never had kids. In movies, those women are often portrayed as miserable, lonely, and angry and to compensate for the lack of a family, they horde cats. Men internalized this and now use it as insult towards women that have hurt or upset them. There are some single women with a lot cats and there are some who married with a lot cats.

+1 yA cat lady (actually crazy cat lady) is usually a woman who is not really emotionally accessible enough for a relationship, and she's often not willing to compromise anything.
It's kinda the city equivalent of horse girls, albeit horse girls are usually much worse. Horse girls are creepily obsessed with their horse and horses in general and they're usually quite square and narrow-minded in regards to dating. Anything that doesn't at least indirectly revolve around horseriding or anything surrounding that world, doesn't seem to interest them.
Crazy cat women are somewhat obsessed with their cats too, but horses take so much more time, space, money, and organisation, that horse girls naturally are far more obligated to and immersed in it.
Just my personal experience with those. I'm generalizing and stereotyping, but yeah. There's truth to it.10 Reply- 558 opinions shared on Relationships topic.
+1 yIt's meant to be derogatory - like the woman is too crazy to have a human partner so she has cats. The correlation here is a lot of older, single women have cats... but I feel like that's because women on average like affection more so they get a cat or twenty to cuddle.
I personally don't care what people think, I have 2 cats and they are wonderful.

+1 yI don’t know that it is. I suppose since the word “crazy” is often included with the term that some people might feel it’s implied even when unspoken. It also often refers to an older single woman, or “spinster”. If you have a problem with being old or remaining single into your later years, that may seem insulting. In the end, the intonation is really in however you take it, but the term itself seems fairly pragmatic to me.

+1 yCat ladies are compensating for their loneliness it’s not that they WANT a gajillion cats around it’s just that fluffy big eyed animals fill a void in our mammalian brains to nurture (an absent newborn perhaps) and this is seen as kind of sad. Maybe analogous to a lonely sexless man having sex dolls around to fill a void of companionship, also a sad state.

10 ReplyFirstly, the phrase "cat lady" is reserved for women who have multiple cats, not for a woman who has one cat. Additionally, a "cat lady" is a woman who cannot secure male attention so the abundance of cats acts as a surrogate for having a man and/or children. And lets be honest here, if a woman is using a ton of cats as a replacement for a man, that's some fucked up psychology.
