This is a small thing, but it has rung true over the years. Mom said, "Look, if you put on no other makeup, just put on some lipstick. It dresses up your face and looks like you care!"

Also, good lipstick keeps your lips from drying out. Burts Bees has a chapstick that has color in it that works almost as well. But I like my Mac.

Today I was visiting friends to have coffee and one asked me if I had makeup on. I'd appeared on his porch dozens of times with lipstick on, but for some reason, he noticed it today. I said I only had lipstick on, but thanks... Thanks, Mama!
