imagine a species that the older women stayed attractive, men would be attracted and no baby due to menopause. those species had less success because men were attracted to lady that stopped ovulation.

in contrast the other species which women wrinkled , the men left and found smooth skin, at the age of baby, that species grew. so those were the genes that were preserved and copied. so that is the species that survived. (in fancy evolution terms. )

I think it is true that young women, say 16, look older now but that may be make up. I don't think so because women look harder as they age and I have seen some hard looking 16 yo's.

I have been surprised when I've met wives of work colleagues. They have looked significantly older - like mom older.
