Do you keep your circles small?

I believe it's the best way tbh, only a few trusted people and then close your circles, everytime I've been around big circles I've noticed they fall apart, it's toxic, they start talking shit about each other, between each other and behind their backs and eventually fall apart, the best way is have a few loyal friends and don't accept anymore people, anyone else done this? 🤔

Yes I do keep it small. I don't have many that I call friends. Maybe three or four and I never been one too. Hang around. Have a best friend because I've noticed that people who call themselves having the best friend or call this person the best friend. The only with them for a reason and what I've noticed is if someone says a little chubby then they'll get someone chubbier than them. And this is my best friend. It's like people use each other and I separate myself from that I don't. I couldn't do that. I'd rather be by myself then be with someone for false reasons and I'll spend most of my time by myself. I'm pretty much a loner and I'm cool with that. You know I'm not anti-social. I'm just opposite but I enjoy myself wherever I am with her by myself or who I'm with and if I'm around someone hanging out I'm there because that's where I really honestly want to be at that time. Not because of you know what this person can do for me or I'm trying to get something from this person. I don't do that if I'm with you. It's 100% guaranteed that I'm there because that's what I want to be at that time and some some people get it some don't but that's just all I am not. Everybody can be by themselves and have a good time by themselves. You know just that like themselves enough to be by themselves. Some people just have to have other people around them. No matter how much they abuse them physically or mentally, they have to be around somebody and that's sad because that's the dependency. Anyway, I'm long again so sorry for the long text

not intentionally, but yes... I do have smaller circles of people, but there is a few of them circles... lol

for example... my best friends from high-school, do not usually meet my other close friends from college... they know each other well enough and get along very well... but we do not usually hang out all together, unless it is my birthday for example

and it goes the same with the people I befriended later in life

WEll, fact is you can only be close to a certain number of people. I don't think it's actually about people backstabbing and sniping at each other. I think humans don't have all the time in the world to have 20 friends.

You gotta work, go to school, cook, clean, wash clothes, watch some films, TV, plant a garden, volunteer, join a bookclub, take care of your kids, parents, car, see Ali Wong in concert.

You have to limit how many friends you have to have enough time with them and to do all the rest of the things you need to do to have a decent life!

Keeping friendships alive require a lot of effort. I put quality over quantity. So my circles are small. Partially also because I'm a specific person and not everyone is able to bear with me :D

No. I have several circles with different tightness. Close family is small but very tight, the bigger the circle the less dense.
