What did you like about the year 1998?

Shit, I was 19 years old still, to start with. Everything ahead of me. Rap music was starting to take a weird turn, but there was still some classic shit coming out. I think that was the year I discovered Eminem on a college radio station, he didn’t blow up for another year and a half. I hyped the shit out of him to anyone who would listen, and almost no one paid attention. Then they’re calling me asking if I heard this new white rapper who was on MTV all of a sudden🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

What else…I think Blink-182 came out with Enema Of The State, that’s a classic to this day. DMX was big. Puff Daddy and Ma$e, lmao. Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa were in a steroid-fueled home run race for the all-time record for most in a season, that was fun to watch. Awesome year of my life overall.

Travel was really easy before 9/11/2001. You could just hop on a plane and go someplace without any TSA hassles.

I had been married for two years and my wife and I lived in a great apartment in an amazing spot near the ocean.

I was making great money and we had lots of fun.

I think 1998 was the year a friend of mine flew me out to Mojave airport where he kept his Folland Gnat jet and had a test pilot from Edwards AFB give me an amazing ride. That was a highlight of my life.
