What Were The Darkest and Dreariest Years of The 1990s?

What were the darkest years for the 1990s decade? Many people mention how dark and dreary the 90s were during that time and how it impacted things at the time for teens and children in grade school compared to the more upbeat 1980s and 2000s, it always seemed as though the 1990s was trying to find it's niche somehow.

There were two waves of this dark and dreary time, the first wave was the more severe though.

Fall-1990 - Fall 1993

Fall 1991-Fall 1993

Winter 1991 - Fall 1994

Fall 1998 -Winter 2002 (2nd wave of the dark and dreary)

Summer 1998- Fall 2001 (2nd wave)

Fall 1998 - Winter 2000

I don't really see it in those terms. I remember the teen suicide epidemic. My wreck that ruined me but other than that I had a better time in the 90s than in the 80s. There was more girls and moving around. Not to mention being grown as an adult happened for me at 31. I felt invincible from 94 till 99.
