Is it weird if I do not know my actual birth date?

My mom says that when I was born, the nurse smudged the numbers on my birth certificate so when the government processed my birth certificate I was registered as being born in a different month from my actual birth date. I posted about this online years ago and somebody said, my mom could be lying about me being born in a different month from my birth certificate to hide the fact that she got pregnant before she married my dad. So now I don't know which month I was actually born in.

A friend was the 2nd son and born in Canada, so no "premarital" excuses, but all his official documentation says he's 2 years younger than he actually is. Even the month/day is different. All kinds of sketchy, but the whole family is insane, so I don't know. (Insane not as an insult, but as a fact)

er... that is, his American paperwork has different dates, so I don't know if it was to make it as though he was born here so he could claim citizenship or just because they're all nuts. Nothing he said about it made sense.

Your birth isn't just registered on your certificate. The hospital would also have kept records and could have easily replaced your certificate. Plus I'm sure your mum remembers when you popped out. I suspect they're hiding a dark secret from you.
