Racial conflict is caused by the proximity of multiple radically opposed and mutually exclusive values, that are commonly baked into culture, which cannot coexist without dehumanizing, replacing, oppressing, or contesting eachother.
Some forms of this are mainstream and acceptable. For example, anything which is non-white is inherently good simply because it's foreign. Diversity for diversity's sake is a form of racism that is positively spun, but is not truly condusive to a strong society. This deletionist narrative inspires a reaction which you would probably consider racism, though you may not recognize the former as such.
These are the base qualifiers. Why do people care about other people's values? It directly affects their lives, especially nowadays. When a narrative is to established to say that a certain people are better than you, because they lack your culture or appearance, it's reasonable to be defensive. People whose values differ from your own will make decisions in your neighborhood that adversely affect your quality of life. Certain behaviors typical of one person's culture may be obstructive, or distressing per your own values, and living in a distressing environment is uncomfortable. People want to be around people who are like them, and I don't think we should force people to lower their quality of life.
This is where our Western sense of diversity is our downfall. There are no unifying prospects in the western world to pull together all these incompatible people. We've essentially crammed several thousands of tribes in the same place, then feign shock and horror when they don't get along. Some people of diverse cultures may have similar values, but, remember, proponents of diversity, in the western context, don't really care about specific values, such as family, community, togetherness, and loyalty to a specific cause. They tend to, solely, care about how many different colors you can put in the same vicinity; in literally a skin deep assessment of people's value.
Personally, I believe people of all backgrounds, nationalities, and demographics, could have a place in the western world. However, they should be invited, not because they are of exotic form, but because, and despite them being of a different culture, they embody the ideals, ethics, and skills which would make them overwhelmingly valuable to the national culture we're looking to establish, wherever and whatever that might be. Absent that, we are paying hand over fist to a government who has stagnated, at least in America, given the same government's partisan radical opposition to itself, drawn from the very same refusal to commit to a national culture and identity.
hatred and ignorance
Racism is the irrational fear of people who look or speak differently because of their race. But the fear of people whose beliefs lead to violence is a rational fear. So when Islamic terrorists blow themselves up in a crowd over their religion or when MAGA terrorists kill and injure cops at the Capitol because of twisted lies, it causes rational fear.

I would suggest it is culture. Not a culture to be racist to be clear. Rather it is the reaction of an individual - such as myself - as to perception person's culture is.
In the West most people are thoroughly modern western in their culture. Most people I meet will be modern western in outlook. They can be different skin color of different ethnicity and there isn't really an sense of them being different. That even applies to other countries. A lot of the people you meet will still be modern western.
However there will be a few people who aren't. There may be a sense of threat/violence about them. There may be a sense they are entitled to stuff without working for it. In some cases a sense they reject modern western culture despite choosing to live in it. In that case we notice other differences.
It is more rejection of those who reject modern western culture. Racism is a pretty lazy, inaccurate way of describing me walking down the street and feeling contempt for drug addicts of various ethnicities sleeping on the street and also feeling some fear of them.
Usually because they do not have any other race in their family. So they start to believe they are "better" than other races. They don't intermingle with other races.
I am White/Native, though I look fully White lol. My white family members are pretty racist and the other side is not. That is why I have grown to dislike white people since majority of my friends are Native or half and I seen so much racism from my own family and just other people towards my friends and family. That is probably why I am more inclined to date outside my race so my kids are mixed and don't become evil like that.
Probably because racists won't stop talking about it! About 7 or 8 years ago, there was hardly any racism left in America! Then, all the loony lefties came crawling out of the woodwork and claiming that EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY was racist when, it was really ONLY THEM that are racist!! If they'd only SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT, ALREADY, we could let what little there actually is die off and probably never have to worry about it ever again!! It's like if you get a nasty cut and have to get stitches, then you go see someone you know and they decide to cut the stitches open! So, you go get more stitches and the next time you see that person, they cut them open, again!! You're trying to heal and do your best to try to forget about it ever being there and they keep opening the wound and forcing you to think about it!!
Because Muslims have a blowing people up and chopping people's heads off problem
Latinos have a gang, scamming and cheating the system problem
Blacks have violent crime, drug and entitlement problem
Indians have a computer scamming, arrogance and pervert man problem
Native Americans have a, "It's all Whitey's fault" problem
Orientals have a superiority complex problem
And the rest all have to massive of an ego to admit they would be dead if it weren't for White people
Muslims aren't a race, its a religious group.
Mexicans are also not a race, its a nationality, like American.
People are racist because they mistake culture for race, and they dislike certain culture's way of acting/doing things. Its why we have nations instead of just "earth", and why so many religions exist, and why different states have different laws.
In reality, race has essentially no impact on a person's culture, the idea that it does is just a stereotype, however people with follower mentality are more likely to follow a stereotype applied to them when given the option to, merely because not fitting in is scary to them.
Firstly, Muslims are not a race, they're a religious group.
Secondly, people feel threatened by those they perceive to be different. Racism has a basis in fear and fear is a natural state of the human condition – just not the only natural state. A lack of education, poor upbringing and insecurity (e. g. scarcity of resources, perceived threat like economic competition, etc) can contribute towards animosity to which an individual will formulate a belief system around.
i don't know how many times i have to say this. i guess one more... there is only one race. i do believe there are different species in that race, but race isn't a technical term. we have a genus and that's it. and we have a lot of species under it and some i believe we are lied about. some are even stricken from history.
People, by human nature are tribal, and so they usually tend to stay around and mostly associate with their own tribe.. Nothing wrong with that until you start to believe that maybe your tribe is better/superior, or you learn to hate the other tribe and don't associate with them.. It's one of the many unfortunate dark sides of humanity..
Wanting to get ur self ahead of the game by being discriminant
Fear of the unknown and personal experiences with categories of people.
Same reason some people are terrified of all dogs or snakes or spiders, while others of us have more knowledge of the facts.
For the same reason girls bully each other.
Because people are jerks and fear:
1 what they don’t understand
2 people that are different
3 change
4 someone that might take away power and influence.
Fear of the unknown.. Dislike of anything different than them.. Ask leftists, they are the ones bringing back segregation, and race based discrimination in hiring. As well as just treating people of color as if they are inferior.
If God wanted, He would create everyone the same. Since we believe in God, racism is a huge mistake.
Bad parenting, brainwashing etc.
People are brainwashed to not be racist
just how the world is ig
Fear and ignorance.
Like Joe Biden?
It's nature
We all bleed red and have hearts in the same places. I think it boils down to insecurity and just wanting to appear BETTER than. That's how cruel some people are (ex included). They hate because they can, even on things another person cannot control like skin color, height, age, disability, etc.
I don't think it's fear as some people here were saying. There is NOTHING to fear about someone being different. It's actually a GOOD thing and a CURIOS thing. IF we feared what was different, people like Columbus, Magellan, wouldn't go to the NEW WORLD to try and conquer things and people. SLAVERY wouldn't have been invented. I don't think it's EVER fear. There wouldn't be space exploration, land exploration, even interractial relationships, U. N. relationships, trades between countries, if there were fear. People just hate and have closed minds because they can and they will, so long as it isn't illegal (or there's a way to skirt around that!).
Sad but true.
