Its a bit bold, jack, I believe the old cat has a point, I'm sure some people, an undefined amount of people with conservative worldviews are not fundamentally racists. But racism hasn't been defined here, an update would be great !

@Maybe_Maybe_not @jack1924 Calling people names is one of the go-to standard responses for many people on the left. If you are opposed to massive illegal immigration because known terrorists are entering the country, and because caring for these people is draining our coffers. . . I get called "racist." I am most definitely not a racist or xenophobe.

@OlderAndWiser fairplay please, calling names is being used on both front by both sides and possibly since the dawn of mankind, its an expected emotional response when the stakes increase, I'm not saying its fair though, just that it's very human to resort to names when heat is real

@Maybe_Maybe_not i am conservative and a bit racist. i do believe in different races. why don't you? that's one of my biggest issues with this discussion. it's proven, but ignored.

we can all be human, but why is it so hard to for us to speciate when we are divided on so many other fronts. speciation would finalize and unite people. they wouldn't be confused and argue anymore. this DNA mail in testing BS is an agenda to divide and confuse and keep us warring at each other. i'm so mad at geneticists right now! they smartest people that have the answers are silenced by their companies because they are owned by an agenda. equality doesn't find itself.

i searched google for how many blacks were medaling in the olympics. the response i got was that only 2 Africans were.

@Sevenpointfive hello, well, coming up like this, its very difficult for me to interact with such a speech. It's as if you were pointing a river and trying to convince me that it's a cornfield... How am I supposed to discuss on such fundamentally incompatible grounds? Lol

Please show me where you see a scientific consensus stating that dividing Homo sapiens sapiens in subspecies has significance? There is none. The consensus is: No significance.

@Maybe_Maybe_not because the left wants to unify as well as the right. they want to say we are all one race. it's a half-truth. until they finally come through with the truth we will be forever divided. they both continue to use the word racism. if we are all one race then why is that even a word? answer me that! we can't be racist if there's only one race

I do agree that racism is a nonsensical word, actually, I think this since my teenage hood.

Now there is history at play, this word is still used because speeches such as the one you feature still want to say that races exist, still want to divide what doesn't need to be divided. Each time you divide, you validate the necessity of the word and, in reaction, the necessity of an antiracist thinking. Which puts all of us, racists and antiracists in a circus scenario where we both fail to register that:

Homo sapiens sapiens is Homo sapiens sapiens. Period.

@Maybe_Maybe_not i'm suggesting this. we have a Homo as a race. but we have to divide it into different sapiens. we already have about 7, so why not more? i would bet that people would love to know their dominate species and lesser ones. it's practically proven by the success of mail in DNA tests.

but if we could finally call all of ourselves human, wouldn't that be something? until then, that's the problem.

We POC are victimized by it, so we must stay WOKE, a word coined by the late, great folk singer Huddie "Lead Belly" Ledbetter to describe circa 1938 how African Americans had to stay "woke" to avoid situations which might get them lynched in the Jim Crow Southern U. Not all are racists, if anything in the UK it’s far better than it was in the 50-70s, still some room for improvement, however it was always better than the US. One of the things I noticed joining GaG is just how many race, skin colour, ethnicity questions there are. Some are very racist and posted by the same anon blue (s), some less so, one of the things that does appear to be common is that pretty much all are US people. I never really realised how much race, skin colour plays a part over there, to say the least it is fucking stupid and pathetic.

All people are racist. Racism is just pattern recognition. We encounter millions if not billions of stimuli everyday. The only way our brains can categorize this information is by grouping it together. When viewing negative behaviors it's natural to ask why and how can I prevent that from happening to me? One of the most recognizable things about us is our race.

Humans started out as small hunter-gatherer communities of a few dozen to a few hundred closely related kin groups. Every other group you ran into was a threat, either because they were carrying disease you had no immunity to, they wanted to kill you and steal your resources, or they simply were competing for the same resources. The human project has been one of constantly expanding our in-group to encompass more and more people. From tribes, to cities, to states, to countries...

I would add some bits, all people are _instinctively_ racists, I believe that for the most part, I believe in the reasons you explained. Now, many of these instincts are being reshaped by culture, so, in that sense, we are racists and we are not, depending on which culture is flowing around us

I suppose that's a matter of perspectives really. Some would say if we're instinctively racists, then we are racists. Whether or not we've been socialized out of it is irrelevant. Others may say we are what our cognitive mind tells us we are. The super-ego says that believing X is wrong and therefore I don't believe X.
That said, I find it funny that white-western cultures obsess over the charge of racism so much when they're the least likely to report any racial bias... A truly strange phenomena.

I wouldn't give much intellectual credit to any theory that doesn't reflect enough on the findings of 2000 years of soft science.

Now that you mention psychoanalysis, or so it seems? Yes, aside culture, I believe it shapes the destiny of an individual's mind immensely, but then superego is just one member of the triad, Can it be a tyrant? Definitely, but so does the Id.

As for the discrepancies between eastern and western, it is plausible to say that the countries pushing social issues are the countries featuring a more relax attitude to traditions, social questions arise in a social space that allows these questions to be asked and discussed.

@Maybe_Maybe_not The superego, in this example, would be the non-racist, but the id would be the racist. Freud's ideas are... interesting.

My point was more about the stats, in the US for example, blacks care more about race than any other race, with the possible exception of the Asians which I think are supposed to be very insular.

in a very simplified version of superego and id, yes, but this is so simplified that it will quickly become false, false in the sense of misrepresenting those concepts, so I'd suggest we don't go towards that lol

Since we engaged in etymology recently, I'd say the term race is quite misleading and not universal, given its biological definition, I believe ethnicity is the word that applies here instead. Hmmm if you were not opposing western and eastern worlds, I don't know what you meant

@Maybe_Maybe_not Race is poorly defined, but it works well enough to get the point across. In the US the ethnic group most concerned about race is Black Americans. If you look at the rest of the world racism is rampant. In Japan 98% are Japanese, and can and do confiscate non-Japans passports. In S. Africa they are confiscating the land of white farmers and calling for their extermination. These people really don't care about their racism. "Anti-racism" is a Western concept that we seem to only apply to ourselves.

So you did oppose western and eastern, well, as I said not enough space to think and question their compass is a plausible reason explaining why they're not challenging racism. Lack of individuality is a new reason that comes to my mind. After all, it takes individual reasoning to challenge the system you belong to, else the system is reproducing itself generation after generation without being noticed by its members

@Maybe_Maybe_not Pretty similar, I know about the Boehr genocides and a few other issues, but as far as intellectual history I know nothing. My point in my previous comment was that it's not necessarily and East Vs. West thing, but rather a West Vs Everyone else thing. Every other country in the world benefits their own citizens and every other country is largely ethnically homogenous. It's only Western countries that are trying this whole mass importation and anti-racism thing.

Now, yes, back to the beginning of the loop, but with a few additional elements.

Let's suspect Homo sapiens sapiens to feature racist instincts, or, to use a much more accurate word, xenophobic instincts. Then we have culture as a layer coming on top of instincts, with discrepancies, culture being diverse.

Some cultures will not question xenophobia, some will question it, that's where anti-racist culture appears. And some cultures, like Nazi culture to name a prominent one, promotes xenophobia as a desirable trait.

@Maybe_Maybe_not The rise of Nazi's ideal of the ubermensch came about after a period of openness to migration. My presumption is that most of history is cyclical. The Germans required immigration and then hit hard times. This is why socialism came on the rise, transgenderism, and a host of other societal ills took over after WWI. Hitler came in and blamed the middle men minorities (which everyone does when the economy is poor) and tried to purge the inferior races and anschluss the aryans. Now they're the most open-hearted immigrant lovers. To the point that they won't punish migrant gangs that rape their children. That; however, will not last and the process will repeat. Germany just seems to be on an accelerated timeline for some reason. I thought after the Cologne scandal the Germans would've risen up, but it appears it'll take some time longer.

@Maybe_Maybe_not Well I went out with some friends tonight so am a bit drunk, but I thought I noted that I was changing topics somewhat from what I believe is independently verifiable to what is my personal opinion when I stated, "My presumption is that most of history is cyclical." I don't personally prefer that to be the case though. I wish we could learn things one time and then not reiterate the mistakes of the past, but I don't think that's what we do. The Early Roman Empire, for example, also had a problem with mass migration, price controls, civil war, and transgenderism in before the fall of their empire.

and quite frankly, sometimes I envy maths, even though I'm not knowledgeable in hard science, I fantasize about the purity of numbers, I fantasize about a definitive access to truth, once and for all. To call things final and rest. That would be a relief. But, for some reason, my taste goes to soft science instead, where purity is nowhere to be found, where truth remains perpetually in question. That's exhausting lol

Racists like Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton, Joe Biden and Barack Obama have been around for a long time. It may just seem more obvious these days because leftists who hate whites, Jews and often Asians dominate all institutions these days and do nothing about racism these groups suffer.

The racists I mentioned above definitely do not support Trump. Nor did those racist, Hamas-supporting Nazis that terrorized Jews earlier this year.

Leftists are delusional about most things, and racism is one of those things. Time to start paying attention to the biggest challenges facing the country.

@beefcakebradybatson: More like we know that obvious leftist propaganda is BS. And weren't you leftists just spending the last five years lying to us about Joe Biden's dementia before you launched a coup against him? You lie about everything and violate all ethics and laws.

Obama had MANY, MANY white girlfriends before wedding Michelle;he's the farthest thing from racist I can imagine. Farr-a**-CLOWN is anti-white and anti-Semitic;Sharpton a sleazeball who may or may not be racist, and Biden is a typical political opportunist rather than a racist. Rightists ARE racists;they're delusional in their hatred of POC.

@beefcakebradybatson: Ever seen that photo of Obama with Farrakhan taken in 2005 where Dumbo was grinning from ear to ear? Strange company to keep if you aren't a black supremacist. And then there was his administration's policies- black supremacy all over them.
Tax cheat Sharpton "may or may not be racist"? Talk about delusional- your leftist propaganda echo chambers didn't mention his pogrom against Freddie's Fashion Mart and his Tawana Brawley defamation, among other racist activities. And he was the most frequent visitor to the Obama White House.

Ah, yes, Joe Biden. The man who authored the 1994 crime bill that imprisoned large numbers of African-Americans. The man who opposed busing and said he didn't want his kids in "a racial jungle". The man whose administration got slapped down repeatedly for anti-white policies.

But keep making excuses for your Democratic Party racists. And time to get out of the leftist propaganda chambers- lots of "POC" are "rightists" these days due to the leftists screwing them over for decades. But you'll keep parroting leftist propaganda without evidence because you can't think for yourself.

Funny how Sharpton was never called to account for his Tawanna Brawley lies in 1985. He should have been tried and if convicted, imprisoned for lying on those cops.
Joe Biden and Bill Clinton are lying racist scumbags who supported the 1994 Crime bill which , if not the genesis, enhanced the human rights violation of mass incarceration of poor black men. So don't call ME an DUMBOCRATIC leftist lemming, boyo. The DLC (DUMBOCRATIC LEISURE CONMEN AND CONWOMEN) are nothing more than REPIGLIKSCAM in sheep's clothing.

Since the right's recent rise ( and since about the turn of the century ), conservatism has mingled with all manner of hate groups as largely blue-collar young men are told that POC , immigrants, women, gays and other disfavoured groups are to blame for their long-stagnant opportunities and wages.

I don’t believe that’s true. I think that people today are remarkably less racist than in the past, & that there’s data to back that up. Not saying it’s perfect — there’s a long way to go. But it’s better today than in the past.

Tell ya what, get yourself a time machine and go back to the `50's and then, when you come back here, tell me how racist things are here, now. I grew up with the tail end of that in the late `60's right before everybody became black and every movie and t. v. show was about blacks.

But, yes may be I need a time machine to believe that

You can get a tiny clue of what it's like from the first Billy Jack movie but that racism was mostly against the Indians. but, the blacks got the same treatment.
If you watch it, see if you can spot Howard Hessmen. He's in a few bits of the movie.
Well, I can tell you that at least 95% of the racism ISN'T coming from the right!

Stats show that blacks and white believed racial relations were getting better from the 80s up through the early 2000s. Up until the Obama administration where the trends started to reverse.

That's because the left are seasoned pros at projecting upon others what they are doing. If you are already indoctrinated then it goes right over your head. If you have to force or push things like kindness and care then it's not how you really feel. It's virtue signaling, if you know what I mean. If acceptance comes natural then there you go. If you find yourself having to guard yourself and choose your wording then it's because you are covering up how you truly feel. It takes many years of living to be able to see a racist/liar in real time. That is if ou yourself is not afflicted with those character flaws.

One thing Jack, America wasn't what you've been taught. But through great effort by the liberal left she is the shithole you heard she used to be. Who's running things for the past 25 years. That should help break the blinders.

People have been "racist" throughout all of human history. And it's not actually racist, it's tribal, which is how we're biologically designed to be for survival.
