Why are white people so racist?

Question

As a black woman I know the struggle of racism been follow inside the store people assuming I'm about to rob things.

Why are we black people always getting discriminated?

You don't see white people getting discriminated.

Unfortunately, you'll probably experience stuff like this almost anywhere in the world, according to statistics. Africa and Western Europe would probably be the best places. Mostly because you would either be in the majority in terms of skin color or such a small minority that people don't hold much of an opinion. Southeast Asia IIRC seems to be way more open as well because of how many different cultures intersect there.

The far east tends to be a bit... in the 70's towards black people. Statistically in south Asia you wouldn't be accepted by your neighbors if you were also Indian, but so much as being of a different historical caste.

And unfortunately even though your skin color wouldn't matter as much in Africa, your family or ethnic association would matter a decent amount more once you have become more than a visitor. Supposedly black Americans who go to Africa are seen as Americans first and foremost and treated as any other American. This really sucks if you're trying to trace your lineage or just trying to visit a place where most people look like you.

Simply put, racism is a tendency of humans that has to be actively taught out, not "passively not learned" as some like to think. It tends to work best when you are the majority, enough of a minority to be a curiosity, or right in the middle with a diverse enough community that the kids grew up around other kids who didn't look like them.

At the very least, the US is one of the few countries where there majority now prefer to live in a diverse neighborhood. But we are still majority white, and so culturally view white people as "normal people" and lump everyone else into their respective groups.

I think the prejudice of thinking you are going to rob things basically comes from a false causation. Our history has kept black people separated out and in economic turmoil. Lumping people in economic turmoil together spikes crime rates. So people see crime rates and dark skin and associate the two. They could pick one of any other demographics robbers belong to. Men. Young. Poor. All horrible prejudices to make. But they go straight for skin color. And thus the cycle continues.

Because in many countries, white people hold the most power, and are generally privileged, so therefore, whites tend to be more racist than other races of people.

I can assure you there is no racism coming from me, and I'm white. However, many white people I know these days (at least in the USA) are subtly racist. They rarely say anything overtly racist, but they code it with words such as "certain populations of people", or "rough neighborhoods", or even "sketchy gas stations". I definitely see this with my generation, because unlike the oldest generations, we've realized it's not socially acceptable to say anything outright racist.

Hell, I was just talking to a college student yesterday, and she told me she was thankful Miami University (in Oxford, Ohio) didn't have "ghetto" students (for the record, this school's makeup is about 90 percent white, and Asian combined), and we all know the word "ghetto" is often a code word for black, and brown people.

I'm sorry but I don't agree with your statement. I'm a white female and I was treated like shit growing up by everyone and in the system. It's not just Asian, White, African-American, and so on. I saw it all. Yes, there needs a change, but there needs a change in the community too. I didn't grow up being racist. I'm not racist. I didn't know the difference in color my foster mother was African-American and White and so on. It starts at home/school and how you raise your kids and who you are around. The system has failed me all my life and my siblings. I have been physical, verbal, and sexually abused, and going to court for it and finding a lawyer to sue DSS. One of my sisters was adopted by a loving family that was African-American and I love them and I was so happy for her. I had to give her up to save her because in the household we were in at the time in foster care our foster parent's son was raping me and molesting her and they were White. I had to make a hard choice to keep my sister or give her up after seeing her try killing herself. Long story short, she left and got fostered and adopted by that loving family and I got trapped with that family, but I did the right thing because I got to protect every other foster kid that came in and out of that house and every neighborhood kid.
I think you rethink some things.

I'm not black nor white. I'm Asian and I was discriminated for that and my religion. Honestly it isn't always necessary that all whites are discriminative or blacks are innocent. For example if I was to just say the exact same thing but reversed like "Why are black people so racist." that would be me making out all black people are something when obviously race does not everyone the same.

Of course I ain't worried that your trying to be racist here cause I doubt your trying to be. But just saying this question in it's self can reflect that way. And whites do get discriminated however it is uncommon and it is only popular where white people aren't the majority.
Sadly whatever the Majority of one race is in a country that will be the one imposing the racism most of the time so if your a black person in a western country dominated by mostly white people then not a good time.
Just the same way whites could be not in for a good time in in some Asia country especially if there more leaning traditional.

Point is anyway, anyone can be racist most people ain't but those who are be Loud about it which stains the good name of everyone evolved. I do not believe in racism. I know it exist but it isn't right. I do have to say this though. When black people go into stores during business hours and just take stuff and walk out with it is why other blacks are looked at wondering if they are going to do it too. It is not right but it does happen.

I don't think that is anything close to being the truth. If anything, I would argue its black people that care more about race. Pew actually did surveys on this, and Whites were the least likely to care about race.

The issue is no one cares about black racism. It is not newsworthy.
